I have spent THOUSANDS on triggers and modules, and I am very impressed with this trigger. With all of my dissapointment about the DDrum pro triggers, and the Red Shots, and the regualr crapy "stick-on" triggers, this one seems to work the best. Even on a single bass with a double pedal at constant 32nd note rolls, it wont miss your hits. One thing is a fact though, if your going to buy this Roland Trigger, use a roland module or sampler (with trigger in's), if your going to buy the DDrum triggers, use the DDrum module. TRUST ME! I know almost everything there is to know about these damn little units of misery! When roland and DDrum make there modules, they use THEIR OWN BRAND of triggers to test them out. Yes, they might work cross brand, but NEVER as well. If you have any editional problems with the triggers, then you seriously have to think about muting your drums- Its not true that you dont have to mute them- NO MATTER WHAT TRIGGER IT IS- due to double triggering, cross talk, and all that wonderful stuff. ALSO!!! DDrum triggers use XLR- to MONO (UNBALANCED) cables (which are a pain,!!!) These Roland triggers get an A in my book

Roland did not take into consideration the various types of hoops on bass drums. The hook-on type feature was made for one or few types. They should have made the screw down part adjustable (forward and back) because when I tighten it down it goes cockeyed and then the trigger won't touch the bass head. OR they could have made the trigger adjustment reach further to compensate for this. Now if I am very careful I can get it to hold just right...that is UNTIL I HIT THE DRUM!!! I currently have a Bic pen cap under the trigger body to keep it from tilting cockeyed. How messed up is that? I would love to give this a good rating because it sounds great through my Alesis DM5 but I can't count on it to stay on my drum. I'll keep it as a back up for home practice only.

Not for speed...

By Tim-dKYvv

Comments about Roland RT-10K Kick Trigger:

I was ecstatic when my triggering gear arrived. Hooked everything up and began playing. Worked really well up to around 220BPM 16th notes. After that, it's pathetic! At 260BPM it picks up about 1/3 of the actual hits, rendering any recordings useless. With no amount of tweaking was I able to get it to pick up anything much faster than 220, even triplets! Going back now, I guess I need the Axis Ekit...

Comments about Roland RT-10K Kick Trigger:

As with all triggers, they never work perfectly. This trigger, unfortunately, is no exception. It works pretty well around 215bpm 16th notes but starts to falter around 230+. I had DDrum red triggers that we non-responsive so I switched to these and still have problems.
I have definitely noted that having two bass drums and two triggers helps immensely.
It feels a little cheap and doesn't work as well as I'd like. I guess I'll just have to deal with some double triggering/mistriggering.

    GREAT!

Comments about Roland RT-10K Kick Trigger:

This thing is awesome! I went through quite a few flimsy ddrum triggers and went to this thing finally...if only I had known! The Roland trigger is sturdy, responsive, easy to install, and stays out of the way. I snapped the thing on the rim of my BD on the lower right side near my floor toms...no cross talk, great response...I sound like Dave Lombardo and don't have to pound the pedals. This thing rocks!

    Not too shabby

    By THE HEAT

Comments about Roland RT-10K Kick Trigger:

This is a really good trigger. I use this along with a Yamaha DTXIII (great module) to trigger my bass drum. The adjustable sensitivity is a great feature. Overall this is an awesome trigger, but i do not recomended it if practicing in a very small area with very loud guitars. The trigger tends to still be slightly sensitive and pick up vibrations from the guitar and start firing off randomly. I am sure it will work better in a more open area than in a 10x15 storage unit with tin on 3 walls. Get it.

Comments about Roland RT-10K Kick Trigger:

When i first got it i kept it in package for about a year before i put it into constant use but a year later it started skipping notes as i played faster. Its a shame I really liked the trigger so Ima look up warranty from roland.

Comments about Roland RT-10K Kick Trigger:

For the quality and the price, its your best bet. Bought a two year warrantee that was not needed. Only negative remark is the plastic body. After 3 years of shows and removing and installing the tabs finally broke. For that, it was well worth it. I never had issues with speed and bpm. Adjusting the module and drum head with take care of clipping or miss-triggering.

Comments about Roland RT-10K Kick Trigger:

I don't know if a lot of the reviews of this product are the result of zero tweaking, but my experience has been great. Once I read the manual for my electronics and got the settings where they needed to be this thing works well. I could see how the fastening mechanic could use improvement, but it fastens very well on my kit. Using double trigger cancel and mask time around 32 I usually never get any double triggers unless it's operator error. I've never checked to see how fast I actually play, but I play heel toe and am very fast, and it works really well. Francesco Paoli uses it and you don't get much faster than that. I can't imagine a trigger better than this other than the Axis E-Kits, but if you're in the market for a traditional acoustic trigger this one is great.

Comments about Roland RT-10K Kick Trigger:

This trigger is very responsive. Every stroke I make on the kick it response. It does not fit all drum kits. Most pro kits it will fit . It is the cheaper modles of drum kits with a metal kick hoop with a outer ring of the hoop.
