Powered by SuperNATURAL sounds and Behavior Modeling, the TD-30KV offers superior sound quality and natural response. From rim shots, rolls, flams, even ghost notes on the snare to dramatic crash hits and sustained cymbal swells, every nuance is accurate and smooth. For spatial depth, a dedicated Ambience fader gives you immediate control over lush room ambience and overhead-microphone simulation.
New V-Pads™ with Advanced Rim Sensors
A new rim sensor has been specifically developed for the TD-30KV’s mesh head pads in conjunction with the TD-30 Drum Sound Module to accurately detect dynamics and rim-shot depth. The PD-128S-BC is snare-stand mountable, while the tom pads can be dual-mounted for setup versatility.
Solid, Stylish Kick Pad
The KD-140-BC 14-inch V-Kick provides stable performance and accurate triggering with a natural, acoustic-like kick feel. Drummers will feel the difference the moment they sink their pedal into this top-of-the-line pad.

V-Hi-Hat® with Improved Motion Sensor for Natural Hi-Hat Response
The superior design of V-Hi-Hat has taken into account not only the shape of the hi-hat, but also the bounce of the stick and even the movement caused by playing, making it possible to play with the same feel as an acoustic hi-hat. The new VH-13-MG features an improved motion sensor and advanced triggering technology for natural response with smoother open-to-closed control. You can alter the closed tone by pressing harder on the pedal after it’s closed. You can also play foot splashes.

I love this kit. It really shines when i plug it with a software sampler (Superior Drummer 2.0), but i still can't believe how mediocre the module kits sound. Most of the kits sound too synthetic, compressed and drenched with reberb. I prefer natural sounding kits. This kit is versatile and has a ton of kits, but very few usable quality kits. Anyways, i will be using this with Software Samplers, so i dont care how the module sounds. I give this kit a 4 star. Would have given it a 5 star if it sounded better and was a bit cheaper!
That being said, I would definitely recommend this kit because I love the pads and the hardware build quality and rack. [You will have to buy your own hihat & snare stand though].
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is the most advanced and professional electronic drum kit available. Roland spared no expense in making a solid, well-constructed and fantastic sounding instrument.
The cymbals are weighted to feel and respond just like a natural cymbal. The mesh skins absorb just enough power and energy to feel like a well-tuned drum. If you closed your eyes and just listened to the sound, you would be hard pressed to determine whether you were hearing an acoustic kit that was perfectly mic'd or an electronic kit. The adjustable reverb allows you to mimic playing in a carpeted basement, a small jazz club, or an orchestral stage.
Perhaps most importantly, the rack and drums do not bounce and move or shift during playing. The kit has enough weight and stability to hold all the drums and cymbals in place perfectly. Cheaper kits can feel like you are about to break them if you play them with any real power. This Roland kit is outstanding and worth every penny. The number of uses is enormous and the sound options are countless.
The quality, in every respect, is nothing short of impressive and I am grateful to be able to play on them. Thanks Roland.

This new Roland kit is really pushing the envelope. The heads feel greatly improved. In the past, my wrists couldn't handle long sessions on e-kits - too much bounce from those mesh heads and rubber cymbals. Not anymore - these heads took me about 20 minutes to dial in and love. I don't know what Roland did but it worked. This kit feels good.
As for sound, the TD-30 module is off the charts good. It's simple to operate, hard to get a bad sound out of and the MIDI capabilities will wake you up at night. On top of that, the effects and lower stage volumes have opened up a whole new world for my band - musically and professionally.
We use in-ear monitors and I have to say that's probably the biggest advantage for me. I can keep my receiver volume much lower and my drums sound better in my IEM's than my acoustic kit ever did. I don't have to fight my own volume anymore to hear the IEM's. Besides that, the band has noticed that our tempo's are more consistent which I credit mostly to having perfectly tuned drums all the time. The crowd doesn't know the difference - in a good way.
There are a ton of advantages to this new Roland kit. The only realistic drawback aside from the price of admission, is the griping you have to endure from the purists but, when you see the list of guys that have converted, it's hard to feel bad.

I"ve been playing drums for 32 years. I've owned the old simmons and Rolands V Custom set. Both great for their time. The Roland TD 30KV V Pro is just incredible!!!!
I can't say enough about the snare pad and the snare sounds!!! I've NEVER played and electronic snare that feels and sounds so authentic !!!! Just as Roland says, when you play at the edge of the snare the sound actually changes! It give you that little bit of a ring...and editing is endless!! You can change the tension of the snares!! Oh and no more machine gun snares!!! And Much more...
The kick drum feels sooo good! better than my acoustic kick. great sensitivity
and the sounds are so fat. With the editing capability I can get nearly any
kick sound I'm looking for.
The toms sound so realistic! The tone, sustain, attack...just unbelievable!
When you hit a real tom harder, your drum stick sinks in a little, changing the sound. Roland has master this too!!! I'm having a blast!! I'm in awe
Then there're the cymbals. Sooo many to choose from. They sound so real! Very long sustain. No more cymbals cutting off when you run out of Polyphony!!!! Not to mention the cymbal pads themselves! I can do real cymbal swells!!!!!
I've experimented recording some tracks! Just unbelievable sounding tracks!!!!
It was so easy. I just plugged in, set the gains and pressed record. No positioning mics, tuning drums, setting baffles. Bam! perfect sounding drum tracks!!!
I was sold when I saw Roland's video with all the pro drummers just sitting on the kit and rocking! You can see the surprise in their reactions!!!
Roland has created a MONSTER!!!! I am a very happy camper!!
