I am DEFINITELY buying another 8 inch splash in addition to this one. I'm going to put it right next to the 10 inch, so I get a high and a medium tone with these things for cool effects. I recommend anybody who even has a budget consider getting one of these because this is one of those cymbals in my opinion you don't hit very much, but when you do you want it to sound bright and you want it to cut as well. This is the best option in my opinion. This, with a nice sized Gibralter cymbal clamp and boom arm. However, I would buy extra felt, I made the mistake, and I have to use extra felt because this splash wobbles all over the place when I hit it. For me, I make sure my splash is not to loose but not to tight, right in the middle so it still gives out a tone but doesn't go all over the place.

A very nice addition to my set, I plan on buying another one in a smaller or larger size.
This thing can be used in all scenarios, especially at the genre I play at (progressive metal).
It's so bright, it cuts, and its only 10 inches big? Wow, this is probably one of the coolest additions to my set. I bought this with a gibralter cymbal clamp thats clamped right on the arm of my tom holders, so you see two toms in and in the middle is my splash. This is a PERFECT place to put a splash in my opinion for those fast rolls. I use this cymbal for added tone and/or for a nice little short breakdown.
This thing produces the coolest and brightest sound I have ever heard from any splash I've heard at guitar center (mainly because they've all be worn out, but still). Right out of the box this thing glowed with it's brilliant finish. After setting up on the set, all I wanted to do was hit this thing while I played simple 4/4 160 bpm rock jams. It's so versatile and yet it's so small. What a cool cymbal
It's a bit pricey for a 10 inch cymbal. But this was my first splash cymbal i've ever owned. I gotta say, if you want hella good sound from a brilliant finish, this is the way to go. I've only had the cymbal for about 2 weeks,so far no scratches or cracks, just some fingerprints for when I mute it(on very rare occasions, usually at the end of measures when needed to or end of songs)

I don't know if mine was different than what the others reviewed in some way. But I got a 10" in a multi-pack I returned. It was so thin I believe I could have folded it like a piece of paper. I believe it could only have been heard in the quietest of situations (living room sized venue) and didn't sound so great even for that. Thank goodness I hadn't jumped the gun and sold my A Customs just to have what I assumed would be all Sabians until I heard them. The crashes sounded like B8s but that goes in a different review. This is from no newbie, been playing 43 yrs. and had a lot of cymbals from B8s to Ks.

I got this a month ago and it's exactly what I wanted in a splash. Perfect pitch, fast decay, bright and punchy. The finish is brilliant and what you'd expect in a Sabian. I have 4 splashes now and plan on getting a 12'' either in this AAX of HHX (which would match most my other cymbals.) I've got no complaints.

                Love this!
I have 2 Sabian B8 crashes and a XS20 china and this cuts through all of them! Unbelievable! Bought this during a promo for a free cymbal arm and it works. And it decays enough where crashing makes it kinda sound like a high china. Very versatile, definitely recommend The 10"

You should really read this review.

Comments about Sabian AAX Splash Cymbal:

They are really thin. Which makes them sound a lot better, just a lot quieter and more delicate. I like them. You should too.
I got the 6" and the 8" for a change. It annoyed me how there were no reviews on the 6" on here, and there were only like 2 videos on youtube, so I basically bought this on a whim. No mistake. Even though they are both pretty quiet, correct mic placement should solve that problem. When I hit the 6 for the first time, I literally said "awwwwww." Mainly because it was like the perfect splash tone, (yeah, the splashy, low-overtone noise that everyone dreams of) but with a little raise in pitch. Also really delicate. The 8" also sounded delightful, just a little fuller.
Wicked quality, of course that is expected. It is a sabian.
Great value, Just settle over the worry of breaking them. they have a 2 year warrenty for a reason.

I went to the local music store where they had a tree full of splash cymbals of all sizes. I banged on them for about an hour keeping a discerning ear open for the perfect one. I ended up buying the Sabian AAX 10" splash over all the others. It had the best tone and decay.

Comments about Sabian AAX Splash Cymbal:

This was my first splash I ever bought. After testing a lot of other ones I eventually had chosen this 10" spash. Rather it was quite expensive in Belgium. It didn't last very long, I think after 8 months the first cracks appeard. But that was caused by me because I hit it to often, to hard and probably thighten it to much,I wasn't that experienced at that time. But it is a realy good splash with a nice wash and a sound you'd expect from a splash. Just don't hit it to hard. It's not ment to be a main splash for metalheads, like I did. If you like a sweet splash with a clear sound, than I would defenately buy this one.

Comments about Sabian AAX Splash Cymbal:

I have the 10" and 12" on my kit, I'd have to say to reply to some of these other reviews on this splash. It's all about how tight you have your wing-nut, the angle you're going to be hitting them with your stick. Play around with that and you're be set. The volume isnt qutie powerfull but the mixture of these and along with my other cymabls it's a beautiful thing. I have had but splashes for over 3 years and not a single crack, or any other damages. They sound great fast and great accents.

What a splash should sound like.

Comments about Sabian AAX Splash Cymbal:

I own the 8" and 10" version of this cymbal. It is exactly what I want in a splash. Quick, glassy sound. The two sound great together. I have had the 8" for about 5 years now. Over two years ago it got a 3" crack about half an inch from the bell. I was kinda bummed out at first. Didn't even realize it had crack till I happened to see it. The reason I didn't notice was it still sounded good. So I decided to keep playing on it till it falls apart or starts to sound bad. Like I said that was over 2 years ago and I still use it. In my opinion this is the perfect sounding splash. The negative review that said these "feel" thin and brittle obviously should have taken the time to actually play this cymbal. I think he would have been surprised at the durability, and more importantly enjoyed the great sound that comes from it.
