      OVERVIEW

Built for loud and heavy music genres.

The explosive response of the thin APX Crash Cymbal is dense with high-end brightness and a razor-sharp projection that cuts with tonally cool, crisp attack.

APX, a professional cymbal series, is from award-winning sound innovators: Sabian. The sheer attack of APX cuts through any music. To create this intensity, Sabian introduced new production processes that also result in a unique appearance for these cymbals. Featuring a 'High-Decibel' design APX cymbals sound super-bright, tonally tight, focused, and aggressive beyond belief to rip through rock-heavy grooves and blistering power chords like a laser through darkness. With the Sabian APX crash cymbal, nothing gets in your way.

APX cymbals are ideal for cutting through the raging guitars, heavy riffing and high-powered output of hard rock and heavy metal bands. Top drummers already playing APX include Ray Luzier (Korn), Neil Sanderson (Three Days Grace), George Kollias (Nile), John Kelly (Type-O Negative), and Rich Beddoe (Finger Eleven).

Comments about Sabian APX Crash Cymbal:

I tried this because a previous reviewer compared it to Paiste 2002s and that's what I have. Not even close. Cheap B8 sheet cymbal sound, gongy with long sustaining heavy overtones. Sounds like a B8 ride I tried years ago and the big bell makes me wonder if Sabian was trying to re-brand a cheap ride.

Comments about Sabian APX Crash Cymbal:

Just got this crash and the 20" solid crash, This is a thin crash! its loud and cutting and sounds great. Is more cutting than a a custom 20 for sure. This is sabians attempt to make paiste 2002 sound with b8 and its close, maybe closer to giant beat than 2002. If u like paiste 2002 youll like this and its to cheap not to buy for 94.99 shipped!
The solid crash is medium- medium heavy weight and its alittle darker than this crash but its also nice. with the 2 20s they blend well.

              Wow!

Comments about Sabian APX Crash Cymbal:

I have been without crash cymbals for about 6 months, and i saw this one with the rebate and i had to get it! the reviews were good, so i ordered it. It was backordered for about 3 days, then shipped in another 3. I opened it and it looked real nice. i set it up, and on the first hit, i FELL IN LOVE! this cymbal i sooooo good. Especially for the price. It's crisp, clear and glassy. Has a good amount of ring, but not annoyingly. I feel like it will cut though any music. The inly negative is the bell, its not great, but its a crash, so you don't really NEED a great bell on it. Overall, a great deal for a great cymbal.

              Paiste-like

Comments about Sabian APX Crash Cymbal:

If you're a fan of that brilliant Paiste type glassiness but the price puts them out of reach, this is the cymbal for you. I have the APX 18" crash and I am very impressed with it. Very bright and pleasing tone and it cuts through great. I would buy more of them and probably will.

              Exactly what it says!!!

Comments about Sabian APX Crash Cymbal:

I?ve only had this cymbal for a couple days, but so far it does exactly what the description says. Loud, and will go right through any guitar. I really like it so far, I think it?s comparable to a z custom, which I also play, although some will disagree. I bought it cause they are supposed be really durable, which I cannot comment on yet. But Sabian warranties them for 2 years. Overall really good.

I wasn't sure what to think about this cymbal until I ordered the 18 inch crash. I was blown away. It looks amazing to start off with, and sounds as good as it looks. It sounds better than my aaxplosion crash (which is a 16 inch), and is twice as loud. GET THIS CYMBAL!!!!

Speaks softly AND carries a big stick

Comments about Sabian APX Crash Cymbal:

I bought the 18" recently. I really love the way this cymbal shines through. Not only does it produce a nice, glassy crash, but when played lightly, it's almost ambient and very pleasant. Brushes sound fantastic on this cymbal! The bell rings out very well, even on the crash. This IS a diverse cymbal - well worth the money.
