great buy for anyone beginners and experts. great sound durable and even flow and nice ringing low tone.
is a pretty great cymbal the sound is great when you play it closed and open sounds heavy(ish) (great for punk/metal) very versityle and good for anyone on a budget or even someone with cash.
Very good quality make. can take a beating has a great vibrant low sound and rings nicely.
great pricing for these cymbals. great for a budget and great for anyone who wants a good sounding cymbal...i do use zildjian a custom crashes and paiste pst 5 ride..these sounds mix very well and i honestly like the sabian sound of all cymbals as much or more than zildjian...even when recorded these cymbals sound great also live performances sound good.

I've played this set of hihats for about 8 years and they've been amazing in the durability department. Due to upgrading the rest of my kit, I haven't upgraded hi hats because honestly, they don't sound that bad. But as an experienced musician I critique my sound more than I used to and have found all of the flaws. The sound of this hi hat is loud, kind of flat, the open sound is good, but it lacks the brightness and crispness.

Great high hats

Comments about Sabian B8 Series 14" Hi-Hat Cymbals:

I got these high hats about 2 years ago. Open they sound okay, closed they sound really good. They have not dented yet and I take them to gigs and they tend to get beat up a lot. I would recommend anyone on a budget to buy these.

Better than anything so far

Comments about Sabian B8 Series 14" Hi-Hat Cymbals:

I don't really drum actively. I just drum occasionally and to help write for my band. But I've gone through two sets of cymbals and these ones feel most solid for the sound they produce. The first pair actually warped upward, they were some cheaper brand. Then I got Zildjian Scmitars which are good if you like beating a tank. They were durable but didn't sound good at all. But now I bought these ones and they really kick ass. I have no fear of breaking them and they actually make a "chick" and not a "chock" sound. The best part, I got em for $cheap. Not bad eh? You should really just these guys out, you won't be dissapointed.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series 14" Hi-Hat Cymbals:

These were great, durable hi hats when i first got a drum set. once i got better i started to distinguish differences in cymbals and i noticed that these don't have the best range. they sound decent but ringy closed and decent open but the sound kinda dies off. If you're a beginner you should get them but after that you need to move up to a more dynamic hi hat.

    Good for Beginners

Comments about Sabian B8 Series 14" Hi-Hat Cymbals:

I have been using the 14" B8 hi hats for a year and a half now, and they are great...for beginners. When closed tightly they sound like plastic, and when partially open they don't sound too good either. However, if you are patient enough to play them lightly, you can get a nice sound from them. I have no regrets buying them, as they are very durable and don't scratch easily when hit hard. These are great if your just starting out, but otherwise I would save another $70 and get the Sabian Xs20's.

I've had these cymbals for awhile now and I have since upgraded to Zildjian A New Beats. For the price of these cymbals theyre pretty good. When compared to Meinl HCS/MCS Paiste PST3/5 and Zildjian ZBT/ZXT/ZHT, the Sabians blow them away. They are bright with a nice defined chick and a great open sound.

        Great budget hats

Comments about Sabian B8 Series 14" Hi-Hat Cymbals:

I bought these hats as a quick fix before a gig. They are a great pair for the money. They are sturdy and sound really nice. They are by no means perfect however. Open they are really warm (almost too warm for hats) they give a nice sizzle but lose their projection. My first gig with them was in a very small room at a conference for a radio network. When playing them open they were almost inaudible. Closed they are honestly some of the best sounding hats I have played. If you are on a budget get these hats there is no better value pair out there. But save your pennies for a better future pair especially if you are playing large venues and are not mic'd.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series 14" Hi-Hat Cymbals:

These cymbals are ok. They seem to be very top heavy and don't get a good swivvel when hit.I would suggest going for the B8pro's because they sound so much better for not much more.

Comments about Sabian B8 Series 14" Hi-Hat Cymbals:

These hi-hats are good for drummers who are out of the beginners level, but if u think that you are an advanced player who really has talent then go a little higher. It gives of a nice sound and should last you a while. I definitely recommend these cymbals to most drummers.
