Before I start. I have been playing for many years now and pretty well know the difference between a good cymbal and a bad one. Even the one's in between. And will give you my best opinion on this set of cymbals.I had just bought my new set of drums and before I was done talking with the sails rep. I automatically decided to purchase some cymbals. Right then I developed tunnel vision and went with the biggest cymbal pack I saw and for the best price. Without taking the time to actually think about what I was buying. Once I received the pack they looked nice coming out of the box. Once I started playing them. I thought that the ride had a nice tone and matched up well with the high-hat. The bell on the ride doesn't project very well and isn't anything to brag about. The high-hat had a nice crisp sound when closed and when opened had a bright shimmering tone. Once I worked my way the crashes, they seemed to not want to project and had a deadening tone. The splash was good. But of course, what splash isn't. So really, the only thing liked about this cymbal pack was the high-hats, ride and splash. Don't get me wrong. If your a beginner this is the best deal for you. But, if you have been playing a while and willing to step up your game. I would recommend getting something a little more high end.

Unless these cymbals have changed entirely in the past ten years, I have no idea how people rate these as high as they do and claim that they are "decent". These do not sound decent, they have a terrible ring in the crashes that will out last the ride cymbal, which doesnt even sound like a crash on the attack. the ride, well lets say it doesnt have any bell sound at all, past that its a ride sound from like a cheapo casio keyboard.B8 is trash, if Walmart sold cymbals theirs would be better, please save your money, or even go down to the used music store and get something that sounds like an actual cymbal that people might want to hear.

Love'em

By TheOne-YTKS6

Great quality for the price
These cymbals are great for beginner/intermediate drummers. I've had them for 3 and 1/2 years, they have taken a serious beating the whole time.
This set was definitely worth the money spent

Good for Beginners

By Nolan C.

from reston, va

This is a good product for beginner drummers to purchase. All the crashes have a splashy sound to them, and the ride rings for quite a while. When I originally purchased the set a while back, I was quite happy with it. Now that I have better cymbals, I can't say the same. Still, a good purchase for fresh players.

not for more experienced players

By Anonymous

I never bough this specific pack but I own a 18" crash a 16" crash a 14" crash a and the 13" hats, these cymbals are really thick and they have very bad sounds, the 20 or 21" ride is the best in my opinion from this series followed by the 18" crash. the hi hats are really clunky and I want to upgrade the hats but i am on a tight budget for a while so my kit will remain the same except I already upgraded to a 17" zildjian k custon hybrid and a 17" zildjian A custon crash. my new cymbals are great

Better with heavier sticks

By BlindBoyBlues

from Las Vegas, NV

These are best for beginners. I was originally using vic firth 7a sticks with them and they sounded really bland. I switched to 5b sticks and they immediately sounded a lot darker and fuller. The problem with them is they have the ride has WAY two much ring. I could hit it, go make a sandwich, do my taxes, and watch some tv before it stopped ringing.

Good cymbals

By sabianguyaax

from myrtle Beach SC

These cymbals are great.I got these for my birthday in may, it is now september. They have held up very well, and still sound good. I got these to replace the pacific cymbals that came with my drum kit. The old cymbals sounded terrible so when these came i put them on and have been playing on them ever since. Good job sabian and musicians friend.

For starters only..

By DrummingHermano

from TX

I got these a year ago. First few months they sounded great, then the 18" started cracking and I dont hit as hard as a drummer should. The only BEST thing that comes from this pack is JUST the high-hats and the splash. The splash sounds great but everything else was pretty awful. The ride rings forever, then when I tried to lower the ring it just stopped. The cymbals are easy to crack and if your a pro or semi-pro dont get these, aim for the Xs20's rock cymbals if you want a better sound. These are just fun for a few months then get boring fast. Definatly had to get these replaced.
