Delivers the volume you need.

The Simmons DA200S houses a 100-watt low-frequency amp with two 50-watt mid- and high-frequency amps. The low-frequency amp powers a heavy-duty 12" down-firing sub-woofer speaker and a specially designed slot port for bottom-end projection. Left and right mid- and high-frequency amps drive 2-6-1/2" mid-range speakers and 2-1/2" high-frequency tweeters.

The DA200S maintains the integrity of the stereo drum signal from input to speakers (including line outs and extension speaker jacks). This provides a broad stereo field that positions your drums at their correct sonic locations, providing a realistic audio experience for you and your audience, whether you're in the studio or playing live.

Features

  • Headphone Jack: 1/8" stereo output jack which combines all inputs from your drums, Aux Input, and Line In for monitoring your drums during live performances

Back panel features:

  • Left and Right Line Outs: balanced XLR Line Outs provide quiet, noise-free signal flow through a standard mic cable or snake to a recording or live console

Got this for my Roland TS-6S V-Tour kit a few years ago and its still running solid. It is built like a tank and weighs about as much. The sound is loud and clear - no rattle, nominal hiss at highest volume (all knobs at 11) - which is to be expected from any amp. The subwoofer really does shake the house. I transitioned this over to my acoustic kit a while ago. My Yamaha kit is mic'd into a mixer with leads running out to this amp. I was going to get a dedicated sub for my kit then figured I try this before spending a lot on just a sub. It's perfect as it offers the widest frequency response for any amp in this category -- or frankly any amp even close to this price range. It sounds good as a small PA too - I have run vocals through this, as well as my bass guitar. Yeah, it's not advertised for such use, but in the end, it's an amp with speakers and it sounds amazing no matter what you pump through it.
Solid build - really really solid.
Great price for the quality and diversity offered in this unit.

I bought one of these back in December. I play Zendrum Live, which is still electronic drums since I am using a sound module. I was using a Roland PM-10, and it was working fine, but it just wasn't powerful enough for some stage situations, so I bought this one. Within the first week, I heard a nasty buzzing noise from it, along with really bad crackling noises from the volume controls for the speaker outputs on the back. Thankfully, Guitar Center replaced it. Now, the replacement is showing signs of the same buzzing noise but only on the right channel. So, after speaking with Guitar Center, I was told to call Simmons. Simmons said they will call Guitar Center and they will again, replace it for me. So, 3rd time is the charm? Stay Tuned. In the mean time, my little Roland PM-10 is still going strong as it can, working great as ever. And that one I found on Ebay 3 years ago. I'm tempted to bring this one back and trade it in for the larger Roland PM-30. Simmons, This is your last chance!

Comments about Simmons DA200S Electronic Drum Set Monitor:

This amp sounds great! The size and sound clarity are just right for practice and recording with my Zendrum rig. It would be great for live performance if you use the line outs through a PA or powered speakers. It probably doesn't have enough oomph by itself if you need to be really loud. It is more than loud enough for practice situations. The line outs have a separate control knob and this is a real plus. I've made some great recordings through it. I play through it when I record our band practices and then play back the entire mix through the stereo input. The stereo separation is excellent considering the compactness of the unit. It also works great as an amp for my iPod and laptop. The only drawback is that it is really freakin' heavy. Recessed handles on the sides so two people can carry it would be a nice product update. You won't find any better amp for electronic drums in this price range.

I was skeptical when looking at this amp, I already own the simmons SD9K Electric Drum set and figured I'd give it a chance on how it sounds, after hooking it up to the drumset i am very impressed with the ranges of sound that the amp put out, I used to have the drumset hooked up to a Peavey Mark 3 bass amp, and even though it sounded good , it didn't have the highs i needed , What i really like about the DA200S Is it has a aux output for your music to play along, I would give this amp a 10 except i think the price is a little expensive for this amp
Very well built construction ,has a bar on the top of the amp for easy travel
          A little too expensive

The Right Tool For The Right Job!!!

Comments about Simmons DA200S Electronic Drum Set Monitor:

After years of playing my Alesis Performance Pad Pro through various bass amps, i figured it was time to man up and buy an Electric Bass Drum Amp because i was never completely happy with the tones i was getting from the bass amps. I couldn't be happier with the choice i made to get the DA200S, its really the right tool for the right job. It has amazing tone control that will really make your drum pad or electric drum set sound like its supposed to. I play my Performance Pad Pro by incorporating it into my live acoustic kit. It sits just above my floor tom on a stand, so when i need to add in those electric drum breaks for intro's and such its right where i need it. The DA200S is so loud that it has no problem mixing right into my acoustic drums at 1/2 volume. If your looking for the right tool for the right electric drum job, i highly recommend this one.

          Better than expected!

Comments about Simmons DA200S Electronic Drum Set Monitor:

I bought this for my Alesis DM10 Electro kit. I usually play it in a 15 x15 room with an Ipod plugged in. The bass is so deep! No rattle or annoying sounds at all. The sub woofer does a great job and really hits hard. This amp is extremely sturdy and sounds incredible with a drumset or an mp3 player. Nothing cheap about this beast I seriously couldnt have asked for a better product. I also have it about 4 ft. away from a 120 watt guitar amp when jamming with no interference. If you want a great stereo good enough to party with or a great amp that sounds great with your drumset/keyboard, this is the perfect choice!

          Great Sound

          By Tim Frock

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Simmons DA200S Electronic Drum Set Monitor:

I use this with my Alesis drum machine. It really sounds great! I was using my spar guitar amp which made the kick drum sound like someone beating on a box. Everything comes out very clean and there is no hum! My drum machine is set at 11 o'clock and the amp is set at 12 o'clock. This is plenty of volume for practice. The room rumbles if I crank it. This is one tough piece of equipment weighing in at almost 60 lbs. I've only had it sevral weeks, but so far GREAT! You can't beat the value for price.
Many nice place to plug other things in that can be controlled separately. Also with all the adjustments, it can be finely tweaked to any ear.

          DA 200S Moniter

          By david bemis

          from Kingsland Ga.

Comments about Simmons DA200S Electronic Drum Set Monitor:

The kick drum comes through clear with no distortion at any volume, all the other sounds produced by the TD-9 come through clear and crips with zero distortion at all volume levels.
This monitor has a kick-ass sound. I have only used at home with my TD-9 roland kit but I believe it will perform very well on stage. The unit is very well built and weighs 30 lbs.
