I got these and for the first week they were pretty awesome, fun to be able to make drum beats with sticks and decent electronic drum sounds in such a small space. However, after that first week, they fell apart. Kick pedal started becoming very delayed as well as the other pads, and then it started shutting off randomly and turning back on. Malfunctions continued and after a couple weeks it wouldn't stay on for more than a minute or two without shutting off and back on again. I returned it to the manufacturer and they sent me a brand new one. This new one did the same exact thing. It is unfortunate because the sound selection is decent but the system is just very bad, the delayed response is inevitable and they completely broke down, two brand new sets! I don't know how Simmons manufactures this product and sells it, it is a mystery, especially for 200 dollars! A big waste of money trust me...

Not Even Good as a Toy

I was trying to buy this for myself and home recording but after using it for an hour I wouldn't even buy this for a kid for fear of turning him/her off to drumming forever. The pads are about 4-8 inches in diameter but even on the 8inch diameter only about a circular inch right in the dead middle is responsive to being hit lightly. Anything else you have to truly bang on. The pedals are flimsy. I can tell they probably wouldn't last a year. Aside from being flimsy they are terribly unresponsive. The kick is close to being ok but definitely can't pick up any velocity. Theres a really annoying delay when you close the hat pedal. The sounds on here are lame. The pads themselves are loud, I can hear them over what I hear through the headphones. Anyone walking by my apartment the door would think I was drumming on my coffee table. I'd say these would be ok for someone who wanted to trash them on stage. Or since there's a battery maybe someone who needs to be able to play crappy drums somewhere that there is no AC outlet.

I just purchased this along with the Phonic 620plus pa for basement jams with friends. I didn't want to spend too much on a pa that could keep up with a loud drummer. After getting the proper cords I plugged this into the pa and is perfect for my needs. I wish I could contro; volume on the individual pads, but as is it works pretty well. Had a small jam last night. I was actually able to control the drummers volume. The guitar didn't need to be super loud and my wife was happy. I think for the purpose I bought it for I highly recommend it.

I picked one of these up this afternoon at another retailer. after using it for about 20 minutes I plan to return it tomorrow. anything played faster than an 1/8 note won't register. half the pads don't register to my computer when connected through the midi in/out. this thing is junk. I would absolutely not recommend this product.

This is the most unresponsive thing i have ever played!I am very unpleased with this product, which is advertised as being "a record on the spot whenever the mood strikes the player",drum set. It,s claims are totally untrue and i would hate to see any drummer buy this piece of crap. I think even small children would be unhappy with it. The only thing that even responded good was the bass pedel. The hi-hats were bad, you couldn't hardly do rolls on the toms, it just didn't sound like what I was playing. This is just a bad design on the part of simmons drums.
