It's not often you get more than you pay for. The quality exceeded my expectations. Crisp, fat snare sound. Deep tones from the toms & bass drum. The Road Pro hardware is the best I have ever owned. At this price, I was able to afford new Paistes. If you want to rock & still eat, this is the set for you. I love it!
i just got this new set and it is unbelievable. it's much better than expected for the price. this is a good buy for any new drummer, or just someone who needs a more portable kit.
I must say that in the 18 years that i have been playing, that this is probably the best set that i have laid sticks on. I owned an older Rock-Star and enjoyed it a great deal. The new mounting system is great and offers a great deal of flexibility with mounting and positioning. The sound is deep and very throaty which allows for a variety of differnt styles to be played on this set. I have played many sets in my years, but this set blows them away. If you want a great sounding, quality set for minimal cost ..get it. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Tama for not letting me down.
If you're looking for a drumset and don't have enough money to buy a DW or a high dollar Tama this is what you're looking for. All I can say is 24" bass drum. You don't know how deep of a thud you can get out of a bass drum untill you stick a pillow and maybe a little something more in this bass drum then hit it with a rubber Iron Cobra beater. It will blow you away. The over sized toms are very nice. Occasionally I kind of feel like I need to have a smaller rack tom but in the end this is all you really need. Paired up with some Paiste 2002's or Zildjian A or K's and you've got yourself a perfect drumset. Replace the heads, obviously.
I just bought this set from with my friend's mom's credit card (I paid her..) because I'm sick of the wait I have with mailing the order (my last drum set took two months).. It came in less than a week (good job you guys).. I love the color.. The heads are thin and kinda ringy, so put some remo pinstripes on it. It sounds awesome!! It is the perfect punk setup...
This kit is everything you could want in a 4 piece set. The sheer volume of this set makes up for the minimum of drums. It is without a doubt the best set I have ever played.
these drums are just the sizes i wanted, good sound, and strong. the hardware that comes with these is a great deal, good sturdy hardware. if your looking for a kit, this is a great deal.
great! even though most rock sets have way more drums this kit is just as good. This set can be tuned any way and the drums will always sound great. the only thing you should do to it is get new heads (I recomnend Evans) and cymbals (I recomnend Paiste 802)
We purchased this kit for recording in the studio. It sounds great and has deep tones. The hardware is top notch. The Toma heads could be replaced with Evans or Remo but even they sound good on this kit. There isn't a better deal out there. You'll save enough to put some cash toward some top of the line cymbals and maybe an extra tom. If you want a beefier pro-sounding kit for cheep buy this kit.
I just bought this set, and I expected no less than Rockstar quality, and thats what I got. Great pro sounding drums at an entry-level price. If you want that rock sound you get at concerts, these are your drums. However, the 14" rack tom is a bit big for the starcast mounting system. at its lowest setting, it is way out of comfort for me, which required the use of a snare stand to hold the tom. I was disappointed, I really like the ease and sound from the starcast. But overall, its a great set, and awesome sound at a super-low price.
