I got this djembe back in december and I've been loving it ever since. I threw some corks in underneath the rope runners to help adjust the tension easily and quickly. The drum has a deep resonant bass, real high piercing tones, and everything in between. Get the drum, you won't be disappointed.

I will say right off...Yes, there are many drums that sound better but only if you pay MORE MONEY. This djembe has a pretty great sound. The bass is huge and the highs are snappy. I use this drum for drum circles and drumming at home. Many people have been impressed with its sound.The colors schseme? Odd, yes, but I really like it. It's got a "groovy" look. I guess it's one of those color schemes that one either loves or hates. I happen to love it as do most of my drum mates and friends. It's different and I like to be different. :)Awesome drum!!!

When i purchased this particular djembe i was stuck between it and the synergy black mumba by toca (the more expensive, wooden version). So when i went to the local music shop and the owner had the mumba and he and i sat down and played together, me with this djembe and he with the mumba, the sound was so identical i could never ever justify paying more money for the same quality sound. This is truly an awesome instrument and this particular one is a very good start into the world of hand percussion. Great, quality sound, and good construction, what more could you want?! The bag is...a bag. Not much padding, but i am satisfied with it. iT protects enough for me. Overall, a great drum!

This djembe IS a good value. It has a good sound, with very good bass. It's synthetic material, but it's also very good quality.I bought it, but now see some downsides. I'll be returning it for something else. For one thing, the color scheme is... odd. It doesn't really work, and that's only apparent once you actually see it. The bag is low quality and simply doesn't work very well.That being said, you still might enjoy this drum. So while it's not perfect, its pretty good.

I purchased this drum as an active reggae musician.My band and I gig weekly at various local night spots,some with excellent acoustics and others not so good. This drum is used often and meets my expectations each and every time.It has excellent sound quality and really takes all I beaten.

For a couple of gigs with another percussion buddy, I used his djembe for some songs. The first time I played it, I was amazed! The bass notes are so much more deep and distinguishable than that of a djembe with the price twice this much. It even gives great slaps! DO NOT judge this djembe by it's price. I own a few expencive djembes and none compare to this one.

A killer drum for a killer price. Though the construction could be a little more sturdy. When tuning the ropes and holding it between feet make sure you don't press too hard on the body. It might break in the lower part.

I got this drum about a month ago and I've been playing it daily since. First thing you notice when it comes out of the box is how beautiful the finish on the shell is. But if you think the finish is nice, just wait till you play it! The bass notes are fantastic and tend to shake the room and/or windows. The slap sounds make you stand out whether you're playing by yourself or with your band. Terrific drum, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a amazing drum at a good price.
