100% hickory for the versatility you've been looking for.
This pack includes six pairs of Vater drumsticks.
Vater chose hickory for these drumsticks. Hickory is the most popular wood used for making drumsticks because it's denser, heavier, and more rigid than maple and can absorb a great amount of shock, reducing hand and wrist fatigue. These sticks are well-balanced, versatile, and responsive.
Each pair of sticks is perfectly pitch- and weight-matched and then shipped shrink-wrapped, which reduces moisture loss and ensures straightness.

Comments about Vater Drumsticks, 6-Pair:
Why are you still reading this? Buy them already!! Your hands and your kit will thank you for doing so. I play metal, blues, progressive, country, and jazz. These sticks can handle what ever you through at them. And as for breaking wise. It took half a year of hard playing to break one and that was when played metal and progressive rock.
I have played on varoius sticks in the past which consist of, Vic Firth, Ahead, ProMark. When first picking out new sticks, it's all about feel and weight. These sticks have a great feel and very good balance. When I played with these sticks it was like heaven. The attack they gave was what I was missing. The shock they endured was great. I couldn't imagine playing any other stick.
The Quality is much like Vic Firth. The only difference is the balance. These sticks have a much better balance so I can play what is required for what music I play. You really can't go wrong.
