Alright so drumsticks preferences for drummers are like fingerprints, no two are the same. But I will tell you why these are by far my favorite sticks. I've been a drummer for about 6 years now and have toyed with hundreds of different types of sticks. I've always came back to my SD-2 Bolero's though. These little sticks are crazy fast. I like a stick that feels prevelent in my hand. I cant stand a skinny 5A or the like. These sticks have a great diameter but are still super light weight. They have a small tip and some say it doesn't punch enough. Well I will sometimes flip them over and use the butt end to play my solo's or even use the butt end as a cowbell mallet. They have a beautiful crack on a rim shot and the small tip sings on a ride cymbal. Versitial, Not small in you hand, easy balance point, and super freakin' fast. Need I say more?

I bought these to support my current preference for playing very quietly. I have been using Vic Firth "ECHO" sticks which fill the bill beautifully. Why did I try something else then? Well, the Bolero has a consistent shaft where the echo has a fat grip, then tapers quickly. They are really quiet, even when bashing.But the Bolero is plain loud! It's a nice stick, heavy to the hand, like a marching drumstick, and the tip is small-ish, making it slightly quieter than a 7A, but it's fatter too. I like the stick, it's got very good balance and playability. But don't buy the Bolero if you really want to bring down the volume, buy the Echo.The Bolero also slowed me down after being used to the Echos and 7As. This is a rock stick, for rockers than might want to tone it down a notch...and that is definitely a good thing, from what I hear drummers doing in the bars these days.I'm wearing earplugs, and still have to cut out early.

I bought these stick because I like to feel the stick in my hand, I was tired of playing with freakin' toothpicks. The tiny tip was the other reason. I play a bosphorus master vintage ride cymbal so big fat tips kinda suck for me. The sound these make on my cymbals is incredible and these sticks are FAST!!! Perfect balance of speed and cymbal sound without being like drumming with a pair of pencils.

I probably implement these sticks not at all intended for their build. I play speed metal and progressive hardcore haha! The reason I prefer these sticks is because they have a super small tip without having a terribly small diameter. Now some might argue that smaller tips don't have as much punch which may be true, but they give a beautiful crack on a snare drum instead of that heavy 2B flop. Plus their light weight and rebound makes blast beats a breeze. From a sound standpoint for recording rather than sheer volume for live, these sticks are prefect tone-wise.

I had forgotten that I own these, I normally use Steve Gadd Signatures (which are awwwwesome). These "Boleros" have great balance. I'm thinking of buying a "GROSS" of them (what's a gross?). These are great sticks for intense snare work close to the rim. They sound nice on cymbals as well. Get at least one pair and I'm sure you'll reach for these often when you sit down to ROCK OUT OR JAZZ OUT!!! Thank you and good night.

I got these when I started my drumming career -about 6 months ago- and they haven't let me down once. In fact, they are my only pair so far. I've used them so much that the vic firth signature wore off and the sticks have a shiny polish which is probably because since I got my drumset I've been playing day and night. These drumsticks couldn't have been better. A 10 all the way!

I found a pair of these, and tried them out on concert snare. It was all right, felt unbalanced at first. I then tried them for drumset. They are the best sticks i've ever played. perfect ping on the ride cymbal, easy to play/roll on the hi-hat (unlike a big chunky stick), and feel great. They're thick at the shaft-durable, don't slip out of your hands. They're Light-fast and feel good to play. Finally, They sound amazing. AND THEY DON"T COST MUCH!

THese sticks are amazing. I play very hard and these held up for 4 years. They just broke yesterday, but they held up good. I tried a pair of promarks, but they broke in the first year. All I use now is Vic firth. These sticks give great sound, quality, and durability. I can playrock, jazz, country, you name it and they are good for it. Buy these for great sticks.

These sticks are awesome for concert band or marching band. I've even played them on a set before (although isn't too comfortable). I use these sticks in band and love the feel of them. they are light and durable and you can play fast with them. I recommend you buy these sticks.
