OVERVIEW

Yamaha's next advancement in the DTX series!

The DTX532K Electronic Drum Set by Yamaha features the DTX-PAD snare, plus a real hi-hat and 3-zone cymbal pads that allow true drum playing techniques to be developed.

The DTX-PAD snare has the proper response for developing your technique, and the real hi-hat trigger and stand lets you position the kit to match your ideal setup. The ride and crash feature cup, bow and edge voices and are "mute-able" and "choke-able". The DTX502 module includes 691 high-quality sounds and offers drum training functions, practice songs, and easy MIDI recording. The USB port allows control over VSTi software and lets you import custom wave files.

Using proprietary laser technology to analyze drum strokes, Yamaha precisely tuned the trigger settings on the DTX502 series resulting in a more natural feeling with laser accuracy. You also get advanced features from Yamaha's higher end models like cymbal muting, natural cymbal swells, and smoother snare drumrolls so the kits respond to every nuance of your playing.

The hi-hat system of the DTX532K features a dual-zone trigger pad (for edge and bow sounds) that mounts to the included Yamaha hi-hat stand for realistic pedal action and versatile positioning. Moreover, the hi-hat can express various styles of play such as open/close position, closed pedal and foot splash. You can even play tip and edge voices for adding subtle nuances to the beat!

The DTX532K also features professional 3-zone cymbal pads, which can express a different sound in each of the cup, bow and edge zones. These cymbals have a good stick feel and low acoustic noise, which is essential for electronic drums when used for private practice. In addition to a very natural swaying motion, they also have the "choke" function 360-degrees around the edge. You can even mute the cymbal before striking it - a DTX exclusive feature!

New drum training functions are included to challenge you no matter your current skill level every time you practice. Working with these tools will help you improve the most important skills for drumming from rhythmic timing to pad accuracy and endurance. The system will even generate a score so you can track your progress as you improve.

The DTX502 module is perfect for use in a ˜hybrid' kit with your acoustic drum hardware, and can be expanded with four additional pads or triggers. Pad upgrades let you build your dream kit as your skills improve. USB connectivity lets you connect to a PC.

Kick pedal sold separately.

Comments about Yamaha DTX532K Electronic Drum Set:

I have been playing drums for over 50 years. In the past 7 years, I have owned 2 Roland & 1 Alesis kit. The Yamaha blows both brands right out of the water. First of all,Yamaha makes great acoustic drums, and they have all of those great sounding kits in their electronic drums. Then, you have a real feel Hi-Hat. Plus, the feel of the drum pads and the small foot print of the whole kit....it is by far, the best kit out there in its price range. I am already thnking of upgrading...if this kit is so good, I can only imagine what the flagship DTX-950k must be like

Comments about Yamaha DTX532K Electronic Drum Set:

After almost 15 years of playing, performing, recording, etc, I decided to buy an E-kit to fool around with.
These DTX kits are recommended by everybody in the sub $2k area, and it's easy to see why - pads feel nice (DTX pads are fantastic), the 3 zone cymbals, decent hardware. The various sample kits included sound very good, and not overly processed.

My gripes with this kit are as follows:
-The KP65 has issues with a double pedal, seems like you need to hit in the center to get it to trigger correctly/fully, which with a double pedal is impossible. I never get the full signal/sound at least.
-Snare trigger would sometimes go haywire, either going crazy, or not triggering at all. Rebooting would usually take care of this.
-The plastic casing of the snare xp80 pad cracked clean through after about a year. Doesn't trigger right anymore. Replaced it with one of the tom pads.

All in all this is a very nice package for the price. From my experience, make sure you realize that these kits simply can not take the full physical force as your acoustic drums. I would even recommends playing with lighter sticks, to make sure no issues arise with the XP80 pad (crazy expensive to replace), or other hardware.

Comments about Yamaha DTX532K Electronic Drum Set:

It's an awesome electronic kit built to last with a very realistic feel as far as e-kits go. I decided to get the 532k instead of the cheaper Yamaha kits because of the cymbals and HH upgrades. The HH takes some getting used to but I'm glad I spent the extra money for it (makes the e-kit feel more acoustic). The 3-zone cymbals sound really good and feel/sway great.

Comments about Yamaha DTX532K Electronic Drum Set:

Love the real pedals, pads feel good. sound is awesome. I can not get the cymbal loud enough for my liking, may be not knowing the settings well enough yet. My package came with an extra cymbal, it is unclear how to add this since the 502 control panel is full, I assume get a 2nd control panel, will call support when needed. Love the product.

Comments about Yamaha DTX532K Electronic Drum Set:

Love this kit so far. Aside from the internal sounds, I use it to trigger software (Steven Slate Drums, Superior Drummer) and it works great! It was easy to put together (even for a left and set up) and all parts are customizable and allow for an easy and comfortable playing setup. You also have the capability to expand cymbals and toms with a little research. The snare feels great. I would recommend going in and making the changes in the module and creating your own kit up front!
