Use this with my Hart electronic drumset with mesh heads and DM5 module. Even though some reviews say a double pedal won't work , I have no problems. Just need to make sure to center the beaters and bring them as close together as you can with out touching eachother. The trigger works great and response of the pad is good too. Over all a great kick trigger for the $$$.
Have a Hart electronic drumset with mesh heads and DM5 module, Had a problem with the kick trigger pad breaking due to the pedal beater hitting to hard. Purchased the KP65 because it was inexpensive. So far works great. ( like the adjustment knob on the trigger)
Built well and seems sturdy ( time will tell ).
Great pedal for the price.

This kick pad works ok. Feels a bit too much like a rubber ball.
My main concern is the longevity of this kick pad. I've killed 3 in a single year of gigging. If they weren't so darn cheap, I'd buy something else.
Well, you get what you pay for. If you dont play hard, it should go a couple years. I DO NOT recommend this to pros using it for gigs.

4.0

decent product, but SINGLE PEDALS ONLY

Comments about Yamaha KP65 Electronic Kick Tower for DTXtreme IIS Kits:

not a bad product but do not buy if you use a double pedal. there is simply not enough room for both beaters to hit. one beater will hit too close to the edge and not properly trigger as a result. if you are using a single pedal however, it feels great and i would highly recommend it.

Comments about Yamaha KP65 Electronic Kick Tower for DTXtreme IIS Kits:

I bought this for an old DTX kit. Works great! Even with a double pedal. I use a DW 3000. You have to position the beaters even distance from the edge of the pad.

Comments about Yamaha KP65 Electronic Kick Tower for DTXtreme IIS Kits:

Church band, first time on electronic drums given to us. 20-year-old set had poor "bass pedal" that was hitting only 1 in 4 beats. This Yamaha worked out fine on the Roland set.

Comments about Yamaha KP65 Electronic Kick Tower for DTXtreme IIS Kits:

I purchased the KP65 as an addition to the DD65, which I use for songwriting demos. It made a huge difference in the playability of the kit replacing the little stomp button. For me, it feels plenty real and accomodates my double kick pedal easily. I have experienced no triggering problems with it, it is very hefty and I was pleased with the purchase right out of the box.

Absolutely great transaction. The right part at the right price, and fast shipping. This product is central to our DTXpressIII kit that we use for Sunday morning worship. Because of all the aforementioned things, we won't miss a beat this Sunday. Thanks so much, blessings!

Comments about Yamaha KP65 Electronic Kick Tower for DTXtreme IIS Kits:

The bass drum trigger on an older model DTX set at our church went out so I got this to replace it. It took about a minute to screw on the base and plug it in ready to go. The KP65 has a better feel and response than the original kick tower and has a better look as well. Completely satisfied.

Comments about Yamaha KP65 Electronic Kick Tower for DTXtreme IIS Kits:

I replaced an old Pintech Kick with this Yamaha. Then I did a two day session with it, running through an Alesis D4. Not one missed beat, no false triggers, and it played more like a real drum than any other eKick I've played. It's huge compared to the Pintech, but I don't care. It works great and plays great. And the price is very friendly, too.
