The yamaha stage custom advantage i own consists of the following: 22x17 bassdrum, 14x5 snare, 10,12,14,16 toms, and of course hardware.there really isnt much to complain about; good build quality, exellent sound (obviously the most important), good finish, good features. the snare drum sounds great and can be applied to many musical situations, as does the bass drum (with tuning howeve). the toms are great, and are well suited to anything from funk, rock, to jazz and latin.the hardware is excellent, just as good as any pearl and dw alternatives which i have used in the past. it doesnt budge at all and can be left for months if needed without slipping everywere. very strong but light.although stock heads are generally not the best, as far as they go these were pretty good. the only obvious problem, other than personal choice of sound, is the floor tom legs; they arent wing nuts, they have to be altered with a drumkey. can get anoyying for quick set ups and pack ups at gigs.other than that, a great kit, great value and sound and very well made!

Got this set a week ago...Natural finish fusion 6 piece. The drums are major eye candy. Throw a set of Aquarian Perfromance II heads, and it's on....Same for the bass(SuperkickII)....These are the best looking, sounding drums out there, as the bang for the buck ratio is tremendous, compared to equally equipped sets...GITSUM!!!!! Great Drumset

By DesertDrummer

from Tuba City, AZ

I bought this 5 piece fusion set in Sapphire Blue Fade after owning an older Stage Custom with long lugs which sounded amazing also. I bought a 16" floor tom just recently to round out the sound at the bottom end and they sound tremendous after mounting Evans G2 heads on the toms and bass drum. The blue set looks amazing under the lights and the sound is the way I imagine a set to sound, the toms "groan" with that dropping off sound. Tune it up right. Yamaha is great. Buy this set you can't lose.

Incredibly Powerful

By kiddrummer1

from Milford, Ohio

I've had this kit for about 4 years and it has never let me down (I never get board). I play a lot of rock and black metal and it sounds great! All I added to them where my Evans G2's sounded amazing. I really love the fusion configuration. The 14" floor tom is smaller but still gives an amazing "roar".

amazing drums

By POPS-v42bz

from delaware beaches

I played these friday night, and my band members couldn't believe how great we sounded. Another band was in the house, and their drummer came up to me afterwords and said my kit was amazing! Use the video for tuning with your fist, and then get some damper rings then you wont even have to replace the heads, they will sound perfect. (Get great cymbals to compliment them!)

Excellent kit for the money

By MikeyT

from CT

I have owned my Stage Custom Advantage for 4 years now and absolutely love it. For the money, it's really hard to beat. Mine came with an 8" tom also (special promotion) and I have the double arm for both floor toms that mounts on the cymbal stand. Replace the stock heads though - I use Remo Emperor clears and Ambassador on the snare, along with an Aquarian Superkick II on the bass drum. Great punch, it records nice too and that's mainly what I'm concerned about. Just another great product by Yamaha!

By Dillony0

well i was skeptical because i really dont like yamaha but this changed my mind, add a good double bass and i matched it up with a set of paieste[spellcheck] set[hi-hats china cras fast crash long ride crash and a splash] it sounds grand, and the finish is superb, id also suggest new heads, i got evans powdered heads and it sounds great!

Great Kit for School

By Trumpet Guy-Szgv.

from Brownsburg, In

I purchased this kit 4 years ago for our then new Jazz Band program. It is great. I just recently put on our second set of Evans heads (EC2's)and I couldn't ask for a better tone. Also, we use the Evans Emad heads on the front and back of the bass drum. As a result we do not have to add any dampeners in any of the toms or bass. On a side note, we do not use the provided snare. It didn't provide enough "kick". WE DO NOT USE THIS SET WITH THE PEP BAND! It is only used by MS and HS Jazz Bands.

Wonderful

By Mr. G-B9CAa

from Barbados

I had this kit for 3 years and it has given me its worth. I realize the older they get the better they sound. I play Yamaha stage custom standard kit at church and it attacking and the bass drum is solid. These standards head won?t work for you so get some Evans or Remo heads

Incredible set!!!

By treflip98

from Orange Park, Florida

This set is amazing! The bass is so deep and the snare is great. I also love the sound the toms deliver. It sounds great with the factory heads on it, but I haven't got new skins for it yet. I imagine with better skins, it would sound a lot better, which would be great. I have played a pearl Exr set and a Tama Rockstar set and this by far sounds much better. Buy it!!!

Awesome!!

By Yamahadrummer-B1yc1

from Vancouver, BC

I bought this kit in a Cranberry red finish, and it's one of the best kits I've ever played! For the price, you cannot beat it. It's a Yamaha so you know they're awesome. This kit is definitely a keeper.
