Spiral Trashes: The Most Unique They Get

By Dean--gZCA

Comments about Zildjian Spiral Trash Effects Cymbal:

I have had this cymbal for a little while, and it is amazing! It has a very long lasting sound. The thing I like most about the spiral trash is the sound of it fading in and fading out. This cymbal is great for many different transitions. If your searching for a different, unique sound other than the 4 basic types of cymbals, a spiral trash is right for you. And yes, it was worth the money.

Comments about Zildjian Spiral Trash Effects Cymbal:

I purchased this cymbal in 2008 from a local drum shop. It is extremely unique looking and definitely gets the "wow" factor when I have guests over. As far a playing goes, it truly brings a whole new sound to the table. I often use it while playing metal/hard rock and jazz. It is a very versatile cymbal, and I'm sure anyone could find a multitude of different contexts and genres to use it in. Definitely worth purchasing if you want something different for your set.

Comments about Zildjian Spiral Trash Effects Cymbal:

The Zildjian 16" Spiral Trash Effects Cymbal is the Big brother to the 10" and 12" FX Series Spiral Stacker Cymbals. I began using my 12" FX spiral (stacked and nested) in a 21" China, but, eventually migrated it to a smaller 18" China. I missed the explosive crash and sizzle on the 21", so I picked up the 16" Spiral Trash for a test run. It delivers a wide rage of effects depending on the cymbal or idiophone you pair it with just like the 12" only bigger and louder! The uses are limited only by your imagination, however, unlike the 10" and 12" you won't be laying this monster on a snare drum to get a Crop Circle or Hoop Crasher effect, but, laid on a gong bass or suspended with a gong it provides decidedly unusual sonic sizzle effects. Mine has found a home stacked and nestled in a 21" China low-boy. It's a Spiral Stacker on steroids, significantly brightening the dark quality of the China, adding a righteous sizzle and increasing the explosive attack volume. It's a versatile tool to personalize your sound, but obviously it requires a larger instrument to stack it on. I find it over-powers all but the most robust 18" and 20" cymbals, so it's not likely to be very useful in small venues, but on the concert stage it's a stunningly LOUD explosive trashy accent that cuts even the most aggressive guitar slingers.
