Comments about Audix i5 Silver Anniversary Edition:
This is my goto mic fro a LOT of needs. Currently a pair is in use as a very low set of forward facing drum overheads, split aimed across toms. I find the dip in highs is pleasing for overly nasal vocals and when extra 'cripsness' is not wanted. The spl levels these handle is VERY high. I found these to be more pleasing to the ear than my sm58, although not as suited for snare wires and or cymbals. For vocals, these mics perform well when covered in a foam screen. For close mic singers, the bare microphone seems to react poorly to humidity.
