Great for rock lead vocals with mid-range presence.

The Audix OM11 Premium Dynamic Vocal Microphone is useful in a wide variety of live, studio, and broadcast applications. This OM11 is a reissue of the original Audix OM1, a hand-made microphone first issued in 1985. Designed, assembled, machined, and tested by Audix in the USA, the OM11 mic is known for sharp, crisp vocal sound, resistance to feedback and ability to handle high sound pressure levels without distortion.

The Audix OM11 microphone has a tight and uniformly controlled hypercardioid polar pattern which helps to isolate vocals from the rest of the instruments on stage. With a wide frequency range of 50Hz-18kHz, the Audix OM11 mike uses a VLM (Very Low Mass) diaphragm for a very clean and natural sound with exceptional transient response.

The Audix OM11 microphone's response is tailored to cut through the mix, providing presence and articulation to vocals even at very high stage volumes. In addition to having extremely low handling noise, the durable Audix OM11 mic is well-balanced, comfortable to hold, and made with very high standards and tight tolerances.

The Audix OM11 mic's oadworthy construction includes a two stage machined brass body, black e-coat finish, laser etched model and serial number, steel mesh grill, Switchcraft XLR connector, and heavy-duty nylon clip.

  • Ideal for live, studio, and broadcast
  • Clear, accurate sound reproduction

Order now & cut through the mix with the OM11.

Comments about Audix OM11 Premium Dynamic Vocal Microphone:

I had one of the original OM1 mics, the predecessor to this mic, and I used it onstage for many, many years. It was great sounding and very durable and I was completely happy with it. It was lost/stolen a few years back and I didn't replace it because I do mostly home recording now and thought I was best off with my large diaphragm condensor (NTK) for vocals.

A few weeks ago I decided to pick up the OM11 and try it for some of the harder rock vocal tracks, and I actully like it better than the LDC for some recordings. It has a nice presence to it that helps harder rock and metal vocals cut through a mix of dense guitars. I haven't used it onstage or with a live band yet, I can tell by the way it sounds in the studio that it will really shine for live vocals. I always preferred the OM1 to the industry standard SM58 and I think the OM11 may be even better yet.

    Good dynamic mic choice

Comments about Audix OM11 Premium Dynamic Vocal Microphone:

If your favorite condenser vocal mike picks up too much stage sound, this might be your next best bet. If you still have issues, the om5 or om7 might fit the bill respectively.

The Om11 is leagues beyond a Beta 58a (never mind the SM58.) I have not tried the Audio Technica ea6100 but I'm curious.

Some vocal condensers just don't work live, including the kms105 and Senn. 865.

          The eternal search goes on.
