      OVERVIEW

      Low-profile instrument mic.

The TSM411 is a compact and rugged dynamic microphone designed for high-impact sound sources such as snare, toms, congas, guitar and keyboard amps. The supercardioid pickup pattern rejects unwanted ambient sounds and focuses on the sound source directly in front of it for a cleaner mix. The microphone' new duo-point suspension' secret is an internal polymer floatation device decoupling the rare-earth assembly from the metal enclosure greatly reducing unwanted mechanical sounds from microphone stands. The included rubber mic clip provides additional isolation. Excellent for snare drum, mounted toms, floor toms, guitar cabinets, brass Instruments and more.

Comments about CAD TSM411 SuperCardioid Dynamic Microphone:

I'll put this up against any mic specifically purposed for harmonica. There is more to blues than the "Chicago Sound". Playing a mean harp doesn't mean being mean to the instrument, or the listeners ears. This thing fits in your cupped hands just right, leaving room for plenty of hand techniques.

I love the way this mic responds to they way you play. It picks up every nuance of sweet straight key chords, and subtle harmonics of second position tunes. When you get ready to kick the other mule out of your stall, it's got the nasty boot to get the job done!

Comments about CAD TSM411 SuperCardioid Dynamic Microphone:

I have been using this microphones for about 3 months now with 1 to 3 gigs per weekend. They sound great for my congas; LP Classic II set. Every single sound engineer has said they are very easy to regulate and audio quality is very clear. Up to this day no negative feedback from my peers.

          Good Deal

Comments about CAD TSM411 SuperCardioid Dynamic Microphone:

I purchased this mic as a stupid deal of the day. Will use it with my recording gear to mic our piano player, when recording our band.

          Quality mic worth a look.

Comments about CAD TSM411 SuperCardioid Dynamic Microphone:

So far I've only used two of these mics to record my toms (13x9 rack and 14x15 floor) and have found them to be great at capturing plenty of useable information. I just mixed a song where I was riding the floor tom through the verses and this mic gave me great stuff; round, warm and substantial with plenty of attack. Build quality is solid and will definitely hold up to my project studio requirements. Great mic, I bought a third one during a recent Stupid Deal.

Comments about CAD TSM411 SuperCardioid Dynamic Microphone:

This mic amazed me. I am planning on using it for a snare mic going forward, but used it the other day for an acoustic guitar and vocals and the clarity was outstanding. Picked up both instrumental and vocals no problem and had a crisp clean tone. Excited to hear what it sounds like on the drum kit.

One of the truely better alternatives to the SM57, and a very good bargain when a Stupid Deal of the Day. Small footprint, tight pickup pattern, solid build, quality sound.

Comments about CAD TSM411 SuperCardioid Dynamic Microphone:

I have used this mic for various snare drums in live settings. If you know a little bit about EQing (find the frequency that keeps the snare sounding natural while allowing it to find a step on the ladder of the mix) , mic placement (put it close enough to allow some air movement between the head and the mic, but not enough to reduce the natural volume) , and gain structuring (USE THE TRIM OR GAIN KNOB ON YOUR MIXER and watch a youtube video on gain structuring. It will seriously take five minutes to understand) , you will have very good to excellent results with this inexpensive product. The quality of the snare, and the life left in the snare head have a lot to do with it also, but those are usually variables beyond your control unless you are the drummer.

The built in clip is a great addition. If you plan on getting one of those snare rim clip on clamps, you may want to get two. I was recently at a gig where the expensive Shure clip was to rigid to accommodate an extra deep rim. I found a cheap Chinese clamp that works just fine as a first stringer or as a backup. Also, one could break, and, to date, I have never seen anyone successfully hang a snare drum mic the way you can hang one on a guitar amp.

The price was a great deal also.

              Great Little Amp Mic

Comments about CAD TSM411 SuperCardioid Dynamic Microphone:

I have mic'd my amps with a Shure SM57 or SM58 for as long as I can remember (and I have been playing live gigs for 40 years). Lately like most things it was important to downsize my equipment because I now play more often in quieter rooms with smaller amps etc. I put an Amp Clamp (highly recommended)on my amp and use the SM57 to mic it into the PA for a more balanced mix. The problem is that in smaller rooms with smaller stages the SM57 mic sticks out to far and I keep backing into it. I saw the CAD on a "Stupid Deal" sale and read some excellent reviews about it. I bought one and have used it on my amp for the last 6 months and am very pleased. While I haven't taken the time to A/B the CAD with an SM57 I don't notice a difference and that alone is good. The CAD is less that half the size of the SM57 and doesn't get in the way. I'm pleased with my purchase and recommend it to any guitar player who is mic'ing his amp.

Just a reminder: this is a condenser microphone that needs phantom power.
