Comments about Heil Sound PR-20UT Dynamic Handheld Microphone:

I bought this mic after reading an article about Heil. It said that this mic would not pick up sound from the rear -ie acoustic guitar being played by user. It picked up Everything in immediate area and caused consistant feedback issues. When guitarist sang the vocal was good but there was so much bleed over from area that it was more trouble then help. I was truly disappointed.

Comments about Heil Sound PR-20UT Dynamic Handheld Microphone:

Having used the Pro 20 and Pro 40 I bought these for the lower price reading reviews that they sound as good as their higher priced models. They do indeed sound great, very clear and transparent. Just be advised that they have excessive handling noise....not good for handheld use or in a situation where stand adjustments are frequent. Would recommend spending the money for the higher pro version...which sounds awesome. These do as well, but very noisy when handled.

          Good value

          By Douglas Dickeson

Comments about Heil Sound PR-20UT Dynamic Handheld Microphone:

I've been using either an SM58 or SM58 Beta for a long time, and decided to try the Heil PR-20 after hearing an interview with Bob Heil. The things that interested me were the greater rear rejection and increased definition. I tried this mic on a gig recently, and was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't an earth-shaking difference, but sounded close enough to an SM58 to make it a viable substitute.
I opted for the "Utility" version of the mic, since I already own lots of others. It came with a bag, clip, and windscreen.
Seems to be a fairly rugged item, but I won't be pounding nails with it like I do my SM58's.
Since I'm comparing it to an SM58 and it's pretty much the same thing, I give it a 5- being perfectly average in price.

          Smooth and Clear!

Comments about Heil Sound PR-20UT Dynamic Handheld Microphone:

What a great deal on a Heil mic! It is smooth, rich and clear sounding. I'm very pleased so far. I've used an SM58 for years on stage and this mic is an even better match for my voice (female alto/soprano voice). Handling noise is slightly more than I would want in a hand held mic, but I am using this fixed on a stand. It also definitely sounds surprisingly nice on acoustic guitar and mandolin.
