For those who like their cymbal sounds long and low.

The Meinl Classics Low Bell Cymbal is available in three different pitches--low, medium, powerful--with a very long sustain and a dry, pingy, brilliant stick response.

Meinl's Classics series is made in Germany using B8 bronze alloy. These cymbals have an explosive modern sound . . . lots of attack and a moderate decay. They are perfect for adding onto your existing setup since they blend so well with almost any other cymbal. With a huge selection of sizes and styles you can find a cymbal that is just what you need without breaking the bank. Good for rock, country, pop and metal.

      Inconsistent, and clangy

        • Inconsistent Manufacture

        Best Uses

Comments about Meinl Classics Low Bell Cymbal:

I'm a huge fan of bells and have a dozen of them from various manufacturers. I understand how they're made and that, like cymbals, they're bound to vary a bit in sound even within the same series.

I was accidentally sent a Medium bell (instead of a High - I already had a Medium). Out of curiosity I decided to see how consistent they were with each other. Given the type of metal, and the manufacturing process, I was expecting they would be really close.

They weren't. Not even close. I told a friend about what I had discovered since he owns the Low model, and we ended up comparing the three of them to each other.

I was absolutely floored when I heard the Low bell's tone... was actually HIGHER than the two Mediums!!!

I'm not sure what is going on in the Meinl plant, but if you're going to buy one of these, just plan on getting a unique sound, and know that you're gambling if you decide to buy the set of three or even two of them.

Beyond that, they're too clangy for my tastes due to the metal used in the Classics cymbals. But that's a matter of personal preference versus a disqualifier.

Comments about Meinl Classics Low Bell Cymbal:

I've had the medium bell for about 3-4 weeks, and i must say; it is by far the best bell ever. I've owned both paiste, and zildjian bells but meinl's bell is far better than both, it is much louder and alot more durable. It has a long ring to it, but you cant really hear it after 2 or 3 seconds, that's pretty much the only falw to this cymbal. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a bell.

          NOICE! (Meinl Classics Low Bell)

          from Canada

Comments about Meinl Classics Low Bell Cymbal:

I use this cymbal surprisingly often, alot of people complain how it rings for 2 long, but it gets droned out by the playing you do after you hit it, or you could put a piece of tape on the underside so you still get the initial attack but the sustain is maybe 20 seconds. This is GREAT for the end or tart of anything you do (ex. fills hit it right at the end, or breakdowns right at the beginning, or even whenever you feel like it, still sounds good)now the souund is quite good WAAAAAAAY better than the alu bell, and im pretty sure its better than the zil-bel, (havent heard it much)you should probobly get the medium bell instead of the low since it will have just a slight better sound, but both are reallly good and i really recommend
