The Delta Frost's bluesy tone is all about heavy metal . . . as in stainless steel cover plates and phosphor bronze reeds.

Bushman was never satisfied with the life expectancy or responsiveness of the brass reeds used in other harmonicas. When metal experts told them that phosphor bronze offered greater hardness, tensile strength, elasticity, and toughness than brass, they ordered some and began cutting it into reeds for the Delta Frost. They knew they would be gaining durability with the phosphor bronze, but they had not counted on the wonderful, unique, gritty, fat tone that it produces.

With its whiskey smooth, stainless steel cover plates, and its plastic comb that's been milled and rounded for comfort, this instrument is up to the task of helping to keep the memory of Frank Frost alive. Most harmonicas have brass reeds, but the Delta Frost has longer-lasting, copper-colored, phosphor bronze reeds that not only provide hours of dependable play, but they produce a dirty, bluesy tone.

Like most guys blowin' harp for a couple of decades, I've tried them all. I used to be a big fan of wood comb harps because of the sound, but you used to have to do all kinds of voodoo to get them to seal up well, and keep it up to keep them sealed! This harp is so tight that I literally had to re-learn to play! I don't have to move near as much air through these harps as any wood comb and most plastic combed harps as well. I've been literally trying to destroy my key of "D" harp to see how long they will last, its been 8 months and it is still holding pitch. None of my other brands lasted more that 2 months of deliberate torture, must be something to that phosphor bronze after all.

I read the reviews of the Bushman Delta Frost and thought it was worth a try. I loved it the moment I got it. I've spent less and got by, but the Bushman has hit my sweetspot smooth, comfortable, and responsive. I've always been curious what the real expensive harps can do, but I may never find out now. I'm satisfied.

    Best Out-of-the-Box Harmonica!

The Delta Frost was designed using Bushman's exclusive reed set-up recipe that provides both durability AND responsiveness that exceeds every production harmonica I've ever tried.  Suzuki sets the reeds too tightly on the Bluesmaster which makes it freeze-up under pressure - right when you need it to play, you get silence.  It just can't respond under pressure like the DF without completely re-gapping its reeds.  Playing hard since 1969, the DF designer wanted a harp that would not freeze-up when pushed hard, yet be responsive enough to go fast.  The DF does all that and more.  It's backed by the industry's only 30-Day-No-Blow-Out warranty, the Delta Frost is LOVED by every serious harmonica player who's ever tried one - just check other reviews and forums.  Stainless Steel Cover Plates - Phosphor Bronze Reeds - all from a USA company who stands behind their instruments better than any other harmonica company on the planet.  Beware of reviewers who have only "heard about it" and not OWNED IT!!!

I am a beginner harp player,I own 2 other harps and they seem like toys compared to the Bushman. The tone and "playability" of this harp is incredible! Even if you are a beginner buy a quality harp, you won't be satisfied with the cheaper ones. The Bushman Delta Frost is the "Hot Harp" on all the harmonica forums. I Love My Delta Frost!
