I did a TON of homework before buying this banjo. I'm super pleased with my purchase, and it didn't break the bank! I am a beginner as of now, but I will never get rid of this banjo no matter how many I buy in the future. You cannot go wrong with this banjo!

If you are looking for a banjo that is not only the best quality beginner banjo that I have played but also a great travel banjo, than look no further than this banjo. It is the best quality for the money that you will find in a banjo I have been playing for a number of years and though this banjo may seem basic to a lot of other starter banjos the quality and tone of this banjo far exceeds others around this price range. I play a Gibson most of the time but if I travel anywhere and want to take a banjo to stay in practice the goodtime gets the job. If you are looking to learn the banjo and want high quality without spending thousands this is the banjo for you. The one negative I do have is that I wish it had an armrest,it gets a little uncomfortable , but I guess theres always the Goodtime II.

I have owned my gootime now for a year, and have played it hours on end, somtimes five hours none stop. And this banjo has taken the ware and tear very well. As a matter of fact it still looks almost as good as when I bought it. The maple on the banjo is tuff and and dearing still put good hardware on this banjo. Even though this banjo dose not have a tone ring, it still has a good woody sound to it wich is grate for oldtime music. I now play a deering seirra and use my goodtime as a travel banjo, so I always have a good sounding banjo with me. This banjo is also very light so it is easy to pack around, I truly beleve this is the best banjo for to take camping or to learn off of.
