Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9221 Bobtail Steel Round-Neck Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I waited a couple weeks to give a good review, also this is the first guitar I ever ordered by mail. It is louder than a regular full size guitar and has that Resonator tone. I have been playing slide on it and straight up just playing it, the neck is set perfect, it is heavy, but it rocks. It's also my first resonator type of guitar, and will be my last I hope, because the quality is there, I won't need another one as long as I don't screw this one up. It really is a top notch, affordable addition to my guitars. The only big let down is it was made in china, and the quality was surprisingly high. I would easily pay Five Hundred more if it were made in the USA.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9221 Bobtail Steel Round-Neck Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The guitar was well make and was very attractive , I returned it because it didn't have the resonator sound I was looking for. Sounds to me like a good acoustic guitar.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9221 Bobtail Steel Round-Neck Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my first resonator guitar. I love the tone and volume. Fit & finish is good
However the action out of the box was set up for slide playing. Action to high for finger cords beyond the 5th fret. Took it to my Guitar Mechanic to adjust the action, Now action is great for finger and slide playing.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9221 Bobtail Steel Round-Neck Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Gretsch 9221 is a very sweet sounding resonator with tons of sustain. It does not have the bark of a bisquet cone but surely belts out the blues. The Fishman pickup up played through my Fishman Loudbox Artist amp sounds true, keeping that resonator sound. The action is perfect for finger style as well as slide, even with the 12's that came with it. I use 16's on my Gretsch Alligator and have not changed strings to experiment with yet.

1st steel/resonator guitar. Love the sound. Nice fretboard. It is a heavy ... but so isn't my car.
