Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9350 Park Avenue F Acoustic-Electric Mandolin:

This is my first mandolin but I am an experienced guitar player so I can't say I am an expert on mandolins. I played a few in music stores that were not good but this is very nice. On arrival I had to lower the strings and set the intonation but that was easy enough. The neck was good with no buzzing even set low. The finish is very flat and looks good. I only found one flaw on the binding that is hard to see so no issues there. The sound has good projection and full tone. Is the round hole a good choice? Most pro models have the F holes & I think the sound of the round hole could be a touch mellower. I like it! One reviewer noted that the pick guard mounts with a bracket that could scratch the top. I have not had a problem with that but I could see that if you rest your hand heavily on the guard that it could be possible. The neck profile seems just right to me. This model seems like a good choice for a mid level mandolin. The piezo electronic pickup is OK & is nice to use to tune or sit in with a loud band. I think you will be proud to own this model.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9350 Park Avenue F Acoustic-Electric Mandolin:

Great mandolin for the price sounds very sweet or at least mine does each one is hand made and you can tell by looking closely at it that it is of good quality but trash the pickguard if you get this as it will wear a place on the top of the instrument

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9350 Park Avenue F Acoustic-Electric Mandolin:

Been wanting a mandolin with a round or oval hole. Tried this one at a brick and mortar store the other day and liked it. Found this open box one on here for less. It came today and I can't tell that it isn't brand new. Changed the strings and raised the bridge just a little. I was getting some buzzing and that took care of it. Very happy with it--nice deep sound, good tone and actually playable out of the box, The only thing, I wish it had a gloss finish--but that is far out weighed by the quality of the instrument.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9350 Park Avenue F Acoustic-Electric Mandolin:

I play guitar but wanted to do something different so picked up a mandolin a few months ago to see if I could learn it and decided to purchase one. I wanted a F4 style to be a little different and this one fits the bill. I took it to my luthier the day I got it to have a full on set up done. He found that the finger board had tried out and had a couple slightly loose frets. He glued & leveled all the frets and did the set up. I was not surprised to have some small issues with a instrument in this price point. You could pay a bigger price 1000.00 plus and still need issues resolved as they all need a set up. The fit and finish is nice, good easy tuners, stays in tune well and the Fishman pickup sounds good through my Fishman acoustic amp. After the set up it is a pure pleasure to play and has a nice voice. This is not a Gibson F4 but it isn't $5000. either. It IS a very nice mandolin at this price point. Give it a look!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9350 Park Avenue F Acoustic-Electric Mandolin:

The mandolin and pickup work great but it lacks in the details of the finish work of the piece: there are bubbles in the finish and the detail pattern around the sound hole is incomplete.
