A wink to the past with a one-piece flange for improved performance and tone.
With a sparkling good-time sound and feel the Gretsch G9400 Broadkaster Deluxe Banjo displays solid modern craftsmanship while authentically evoking the company's innovative banjo models of the early 20th century. It features a one-piece flange for a more rapid note decay, with less sustain, that's ideal for notes played in rapid succession. It has a solid maple rim, which means less glue and more banjo tone. The G9400 also features a bluegrass resonator to help increase the volume when soloing in a group. The mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with deluxe inlays for beauty and precise fingering. This Broadkaster Deluxe Banjo is a splendid southern surfeit of outstanding sound, performance and value for established artist, seasoned player and eager student alike.
Gretsch is proud to take players on a musical journey through nearly a century of great Gretsch history by introducing its Roots Collection of acoustic instruments. This exciting family of banjos, mandolins, resonator guitars, ukuleles and Rancher acoustic guitars feature classically authentic Gretsch designs that transport players to a bygone era well before the company made its acclaimed 1950s entry into the electric guitar world.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars Root Series G9400 Broadkaster Deluxe Banjo:
I've played guitar for many years and I like the sound of a banjo in some songs, so I thought I would give it a try. I'm very glad I selected the Gretsch Broadkaster Deluxe. The banjo is gorgeous. Stunning. I was surprised by the weight of the banjo -- it's heavy. However, it's easy to move around the neck. You certainly don't run into circumference problems like you can with guitars. Rosewood fretboard is nice. The Gretsch has a large resonator and as a result, a lot of sound. As I mentioned earlier, I'm a novice. I'm fingerpicking. No doubt this baby cooks with thumb picks and finger picks. I will probably take a few banjo lessons because I've had so much fun with this Gretsch. Banjos have been a part of our music culture for so long. If you're thinking about one, this Broadkaster Deluxe is sweet.
