Comments about Hohner 39C Little Lady Harmonica Key of C:
This little harmonica is a delight to own and play! I wasn't expecting much, and when I opened the large shipping carton and removed the full-sized display box and then extracted the tiny plastic box from that, I opened it to find this diminutive instrument, which appeared to be a toy. It made me laugh, it seemed so ridiculous. I was considering whether to consign it to the dresser drawer or chuck it in the trash. But of course I had to try it first. I was amazed at the purity of the sound! The hardest part is holding it, it is so small. I soon found myself playing song after song, I couldn't put it down. This harmonica is made to the same quality standards as Hohner's other German line, and it is accurately tuned at the factory. It is certainly not a toy, but a quality musical instrument in a miniature size. This is not suitable for a young child, as it could possibly be swallowed. As far as practical application, it's really best suited for personal enjoyment, and it is extremely portable, very easy to have with you at all times, if so desired. It has a bail which can be attached to a key ring or allows it to be used as a necklace. I keep mine in the tiny plastic box in my pocket. It is easy to lose, so you need to be aware of where you are putting it. It has one full octave in the key of "C", so you are limited to eight notes, but there are unlimited tunes that can be played with this, and it sounds wonderful if played into a good microphone, as it is not very loud. This is recommended to any harmonica lover, this little lady will win you over!

How can you get better quality than owning a Little Lady that was made in the1800's and still works today good as new.It was my grandfather's given to him by his father.I just looked it up today while going through my memorabilia.I called customer service and a sweet young lady told me they were still in production and gave me the item no.I couldn't believe I was looking at the exact harmonica. The only difference was on the opposite side it has their company name and "made in Germany".Thank you for making a quality product.Keep up the excellent work!!

I was looking for a small harmonica that I could make into a necklace and have with me all the time. I found the Little Lady by Hohner and purchased it. I was very surprised at the sound for such a small instrument, it's great! Looks great too! I have made several now for my friends and they love it too! I have gotten many comments on it and wear it proudly. One of the best things about it is the packaging it came in, "The first musical instrument in space", jingle bells was played on it and there is one in the Smithsonian Institute! Very cool! Everyone should have one of these little gems!!

The first time I played this little jewel I was totally blown away. It's not just a novelty to be shown -- it's a truly playable harmonica! My repertoire on it goes all the way from such simple little ditties as "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" through "The Marines' Hymn", various Christmas tunes, and even a couple of excerpts from Vivaldi's "Four Seasons"! It's convenient to carry along ANYWHERE (its case is very rugged), and it helps pass the time during such activities as sitting in the car waiting for a train to pass. There's no "down side" to this harmonica -- wish I'd bought one much sooner!

I'm a serious harp player. I'm pleased with it, for sure, it's a quality-made harmonica, looks beautiful, and fits nice on a long silver chain. The scale is the 4-7 holes on a standard diatonic, and the small size necessitates a rather high key, but I hadn't expected any less. Features took a small hit because many recognizable or fun tunes need that 3 hole, and you can't play anything bluesy on it. Quality is tops for the size, no plastic reeds here. Might be tiny, but it's just as well-made as... if I had to compare, probably Big River-esque. Biggest drawback is the size. I expected something about the size of a standard diatonic, just four holes in length, but this sucker is tinier than you might expect. Makes it hard to play, trying to fit your tongue or lips around them itty-bitty holes, but it's possible. Mainly, I say keep it around your neck, and if somebody asks you A) Does it work, or B) Do you play? Blow a few tones to prove the former, and then pull out the standard harp that you always keep in your pocket (you do, don't you?) and blow them away.
