A 3-pack of go-to harps for professionals and the first quality choice for those learning to play.
The 560 Special 20 Harmonica Pro Pack contains three of Hohner's professional-level Special 20 harmonicas in a package that saves you some cash while offering you harmonicas in the most popular keys of G, C, and A.
The 560 Special 20 harmonica's airtight design makes it the most recommended go-to harp for harmonica players of any style, including blues, country, folk, or rock. It has the coveted Marine Band sound plus the added benefits of its plastic comb, which doesn't absorb moisture. Plastic combs are more stable and do not swell, shrink, or crack. Plus they last longer and are more airtight than wood combs that can become swollen, twisted, and warped. Increased airtightness means increased responsiveness. Plastic also provides comfort and it's smoother on the lips, preventing chafing. Another plus of the Hohner 560 Special 20 harmonica's design is that its smooth mouthpiece features reed plates that are recessed into the comb. This keeps the two (rather sharp) edges of the brass reed plates from harming the player's lips. It's the harp-of-choice of harmonica virtuoso John Popper of the band Blues Traveler and was played by Bob Dylan on his 2007-2008 tour. Chances are your favorite player has several of these harmonica in his case.
In addition, this 560 Special 20 Harmonica Pro Pack comes in sealed, "blister packaging" which has several advantages. As the Hohner harmonicas are sealed, they are guaranteed to have never been played or tampered with. Additionally, there is useful product information on the package card, for example, a key chart telling players which key of harmonica to use for certain songs if they wish to play in crossharp or 2nd position, which is the default position for blues and rock 'n' roll. Lastly, blister packaging can include added items, such as small booklets on the history of the harmonica, or a mini catalog showing other Hohner harmonicas, accessories, and merchandise.
Hohner is a family company founded in 1857 in Trossingen, Germany by Matthias Hohner. Hand-made quality and close attention to detail has set Hohner apart from the beginning. A top leading brand in harmonicas, Hohner harps are distributed worldwide. Hohner harmonicas are played on the street by buskers, in intimate nightclubs, on festival stages, and even in Carnegie Hall. Despite a diverse harmonica line used in music from country to classical genres, the most famous Hohner harmonicas are their simple, 10-hole diatonics used frequently by blues, rock, country, and folk musicians.

Comments about Hohner 560 Special 20 Harmonica Pro Pack:
I played "with" harmonicas for years using cheap harps in "C" that were nearly impossible to bend and in the wrong keys for most of the songs I wanted to play until I discovered the Special 20. This is a great harp, and this is a great set. For those who are just starting out, the "G" is what you use for the intro to Blackfoot's "Train, Train", as well as Neil Young's "Heart of Gold", Tom Petty's "Mary Jane's Last Dance" and few Country Classics like Waylon Jenning's "Lonesome, On'ry and Mean". The "A" is used for "Train, Train"'s solos, any blues in the key of "E" including "Road House Blues" and most Sonny Terry songs. The "C" is what most instruction books use, as well as Billy Joel on "Piano Man".The ONLY problem I have with this set is that the packaging means, if you buy in person, you can't try out the individual harps on the bellows blower that most music stores keep, just in case you have a reed out of tune or that doesn't work. If you're buying from this site, that's not an option but you will have to return all the harps if one doesn't work. Overall, that's a minor issue. Most Special 20s work well out of the box and the savings add up to 'buy two get one half off'. 'One free' would be better, but hey, it still beats buying them at $32.99 each. If it were me, I'd also offer a set with a "G", "A", and "D" on the assumption that most beginners would have already bought a "C" harp before stepping up to the other keys, but that's minor also. So, if you're just starting out and like Country, Southern, or Classic Rock, GET THIS SET. Or, if you're like me and need to replace a harp or two (they'll wear out after a year or two hard playing) get your favorite keys of your favorite harp in a set and save!
