A sharp cruisin' and bluesin' machine.

With its sleek design and art deco styling, the Model 225 Hohner "Deuce and a Quarter" harp invokes the memory of the Buick Electra 225 automobile, introduced in 1959, the heyday of classic Chicago blues bands.

This limited-edition diatonic harmonica's wood comb is sandwiched between black reed cover plates adorned with name "Deuce and a Quarter" in stylized script over a art deco swept-wing 225 logo.

Featuring special heavy duty chrome reed plates that spec out to 2.25 mm thick, the new 225 Deuce and a Quarter harp produces thick rich tones that will stand up to abuse longer than most any other harmonicas. This heavy duty harp feels great in your hand and has a loud voice that really projects making it perfect for blues and rock. The "Deuce" is a custom harp designed for players that are ready to rock and who want to look really good while doing it. It is available in a limited quantities and only in the key of A (to accompany jams in the key of E, which is most guitar players favorite key).

This harp comes with a black plastic carrying case with custom Deuce & a Quarter graphics.

        Features
        • Heavy-duty chrome reed plates (2.25 mm)
        • Key of A

Comments about Hohner Deuce and a Quarter Harmonica:

Just a quick update. Got this harp a week or so ago and I'm still loving the tone and playability. In fact, I love it so much I ordered a second one and I'd even like to get a couple more to put back. One thing though, it DOES NOT have 2.25mm reed plates. I pulled the harp I have apart and put my calipers across the reed plates in several different places and they measure out to be .043"(1.09mm) which is pretty much the standard MS replacement plate thickness(1.05mm) +.04mm for the chrome plating. Still, that's not a bad thing since the thicker the reed plate the faster the reeds will blow out so with it being standard thickness it'll last as long as a Blues Harp or Marine Band which is great news for me. I hope they don't sell out of this harp too soon, I'd love to order a couple more. Awesome harp, awesome price.

This is my first wooden comb harp and I have to say it's really nice. Fit and finish are excellent, sounds great and looks awesome. I wish they made this harp in more keys. Don't know if I'd have spend $59.95 for it but at $24.95 it's a steal.

              A Great Deal!

Comments about Hohner Deuce and a Quarter Harmonica:

I've played diatonic harp for years and own different brands and models in every key there is--major, minor, harmonic minor, flats, sharps, cross-harp, you name it. Since "A" is arguably the most useful key, used for accompanying a guitar's open E tuning, I've collected several A harps. I don't find that this is just a "dressed up Blues Harp," mine sounds much richer than the Blues Harp or the Special 20. I retired my previous favorite "A" Lee Oskar in favor of the Deuce and a Quarter--The only harp that might surpass it is the Suzuki ProMaster (which sells for more than twice the price). It's a rich, resonant harp that's good enough for performing and recording.

Just a dressed up Blues Harp

Comments about Hohner Deuce and a Quarter Harmonica:

I am not a professional musician but I have been playing the harmonica since the seventies in garage bands and other private venues. I was very disappointed in this instrument. First It wasn't anything like the description. It came in a black plastic blues harp case (not the one pictured), It has a wooden comb (not plastic) and it plays and sounds exactly like my key of A blues harp. No louder, no different, no more consistent. I intend to return it. Shame on Hohner for this deception. I read a previous review.

Wow, this harp really feels great in your hand, has a big sound too. Great addition to my collection. How about making a set available with one of these harps in every key? I'd definitely buy it!
