Harness the power and mystery of the turtle with this Hawaiian-tattoo-inspired design.

This Tattoo Concert Uke takes its design from traditional Hawaiian body ornamentation. The designs were monochromatic, tattooed in black against brown skin. The patterns and layout were strongly geometric and there were many shapes and symbols representing the natural island world: stones, waves, fish, sharks, turtles, rain, sun, and birds. This design is based on a Hawaiian turtle (honu), a symbol of longevity and endurance rendered in a Polynesian tattoo style. The fret markers are stylized sharks teeth.

Sweet!

| Review By: Chuck Costolo | 2 weeks, 21 hours ago

Features:

It's a good solid instrument.  The Tatoo isn't as dark as it shows in the catalog... I actually like its subtlety.

Quality:

Well finished... very nice finish and no glue squeezed out of the joints.  Fretwork is solid and smooth.  It feels good in the hand and it has a sweet bright tone.  Luna did a great job!

Value:

I feel that I got more than I paid for.

Overall:

Nice Uke... this is my first, and I looked at a couple at my music store.  They have Martins at one end of the spectrum and cheaply made toys at the other.  I read the reviews online and this one kept showing up with lots of stars.  I now know why.  If your looking for a great Ukulele and don't want to drop some big buck this is a great place to start.

Great First Uke

| Review By: Dan Stevenson | 1 month, 3 days ago

3 people out of 3 found this review helpful

Features:

I bought this Uke to begin a new hobby and I haven't set it down since. I love this thing. It sounds great and looks super with the tatooed body.

Quality:

No sharp fret edges, no glue, built solid. If you're worried about quality in the uke you buy, this would be a great pickup because the quality is pretty great.

Value:

I got this on sale at MusiciansFriend and it was the best purchase i've made in years! All my friends are amazed as they've spent $100+ on their ukes and this Luna looks and plays just as good as theirs. Sometimes they even prefer to play mine! It's a great uke.

Overall:

Overall I love the product and would recommend it to anybody, new or veteran to the Uke. It's hard to learn on a bad uke so spend the extra $30 and get one that will last as long as you let it. The strings stay tight (although they stretch for a while and you have to tune often, but that is the strings, not the uke...) and there is no rattle when strumming.

good uke

Features:
Quality:

This uke is well built, no visible glue and everything is assembled in a quality manor.

Value:

For 100 dollars I think this is a good instrument. However it's not as loud as I had anticipated and there is ocassional buzzing but I feel like once everything settles and the uke gets played a little more those things wont be an issue.

Overall:

Good beginner Ukulele for the price,

Well built in comparison to the lower priced Uke's would recommend for any level of player.

I would buy another

Overall:

I have two Luna Guitars so a Luna Ukulele seemed like the rite choice, I did hours of research before I bought it, covered price differences, models, designs so on and so forth... Decided that I would give it a try and I am glad I did, I opened the box at work and got nothing but ohhs and ahhs from the the shear beauty of this well crafted and unique looking Uke, tuned her up, got on line and with in minutes I was playing as if i was in Hawaii instead of Afghanistan... I love the sound and the action as well as I can tell is good for Uke standards, i would (and have) recommend this Uke as well as any Luna product to any one and everyone!
