Mahalo U-50G STUDENT UKULELE  

I bought this ukulele three weeks ago on musician's friend after much thorough research and pouring over other reviews.  Based on reviews, my heart was set on a Lanikai.  But was 40-70 bucks really worth it?  So I went to my nearby Guitar Center to check out their various ukes (I never played one before; I've only had guitars and needed something small and compact to play while I was away on a sojourn and could not take a geetar with me.)  So the Lanikai didn't impress me that much in person so I figure I just need something strummy to get me by.  But it can't be that horrible sounding.  So I decided to get the Mahalo and you know what- it isn't that bad.  First week it had a hard time staying in tune for ten minutes but weeks later it stays in tune for at least 30-60 minutes, if not the rest of the time, the one I got at least.  Next day it's out of tune typically, but I really can't complain.  What I got for the price- I'm extremely satisfied with, and when it is in tune it has such a rich nice sound.  Awesome for the price, and if I really want it to sound super duper fancy then maybe I'll bother to invest in a much higher end. 

I love this ukulele... I have recently wanted to play the ukulele and found this, and love it! The value is great, and so is the quality... I would suggest this to all of my friends. I love it!!! Get it now!

Overall, this is a decent ukulele.  It is not a high quality instrument.  I bought it to just learn to play on it.  Once I got it in tune, it stayed in tune for a bit... but hard to keep it in tune.  Materials are average. Overall, it was ok, considering that it was only 22 bucks.

for this item your getting what you pay for.its cute and its a great price,the sound quality is decent, but the strings are almost impossible to tune, so getting new strings for this ukulele would be a great idea to do.
