I am an experienced guitar player and bought this because the price was right and I wanted to learn to play the ukulele. I am totally satisfied. It is a very nice looking and sounding uke that I think is perfect for a beginner or as a uke to take camping or places where you wouldn't want to take an expensive instrument. Even came with a nice gig bag. It does have friction tuners and you need to tighten the friction screws so that it stays in tune. Also the strings it came with are cheap ones that stretch. For the first couple days I had to tune it often but after that it stays in tune very well. Definitely not a professional grade uke but I am having lots of fun with it.

This uke is useful not only for beginners, but also for a more accomplished musician who wants an instrument to cart about with him that he need not worry too much about damaging.

The uke-style tuners are a bit flaky. Tightening the screws helped considerably.
Generally poor finish. I have a Rogue mandolin and baritone uke in addition to the suprano, and the finish on the suprano is certainly the worst of the lot. There are rough spots, and chipped finish coat is several spots. However, the instrument is eminently playable and from a musical point of view, of fair quality
Despite the characteristics outlined above, because of its low price it represents excellent value.

Comments about Rogue Hawaiian Soprano Ukulele:
The thing to keep in mind when buying a Rogue ukulele is that you do not buy a fully set up pro level instrument. If you know a few things about set up and tweaking, you may actually get a pretty good little uke. Change the low grade tuners into Grover 2b; get rid of the horrible stock strings, and lower the action. Then you will have an inexpensive, sturdy and nice-looking uke to bring along wherever you may want to go. Cheap ukes are mighty cool. They strip you of all pretension, and put a smile on everybody's face.

Comments about Rogue Hawaiian Soprano Ukulele:
This ukulele cannont be tuned for more than a few seconds because the way the tuning pegs are set up causes the tension of the strings to twist the pegs so that it is no longer in tune.
The tone quality sounds fine as far as I can tell, but this problem rendered the instrument completely unplayable to me.

We love this thing.
I love it, the kids love it. I love it. This thing is small enough to go anywhere it's perfect for occasionals. I leave it next to my desk and grab it at least once a day.
In case anyone was concerned from the other reviews, after tightening the pegs a bit it seems to hold a tune pretty well, . I might buy some new strings but I definitely plan on buying at least one more of these so I don't have to share with the rest of the house all the time.
We have 4 guitars and a keyboard, and the ukulele gets played well over twice as much. :)

Comments about Rogue Hawaiian Soprano Ukulele:
This has an awesome neck with beautiful fret work. Don't spend hundreds on a uke, 10 years ago that would be unheard of. C'mon folks, it's just a uke, not a stradivarius violin...friction tuners need to have screws tightened to hold it in tune, that's just the nature of the beast, geared tuners are for guitars not ukes.

I like this better than my expensive Uke. I replaced the tuners and because of the great sound at low cost I'm comfortable taking this anywhere and having fun.

Comments about Rogue Hawaiian Soprano Ukulele:
I purchased this ukulele because I didn't want to commit to a more expensive model. It is a very good looking instrument. I immediately changed out the strings to the Martin M600 Fluorocarbon Ukulele strings and it sounds SOOOO much better. The tuners need to be tightened down or they wouldn't hold in place. This is a little inconvenient because now they are very hard to turn to make minor tuning adjustments, but for me it is not a big deal and I knew this would be an issue with an instrument in this price range. Overall, this is a great uke for someone who doesn't want to make a large investment in a more expensive instrument.

Comments about Rogue Hawaiian Soprano Ukulele:
this appears to be a great ukelele unfortunately the tuning pegs are terrible. I bought one for me and my son and both set of tuning pegs are useless. I will have to take them both to a music store to have it fixed. I cant comment on the sound quality being I have to get it fixed before it is playable.
