What a deal!

Features:

Purchased this mandolin from the clearance section & was a little worried because it was so inexpensive.  Went with an instruction book too.  Received both items in great condition in a couple days.  Boy was I surprised at how well it was built & the finish was excellent.  I am not a professional player so I can not compare it to other mandolin's.  I feel comfortable in recommending this for any beginner for the price.  Great looking & sounding!

Review of RM-100A A-Style Mandolin

| Review By: Tylor Lennox | 1 week, 3 days ago

Features:

the etched pattern on the silver is magnificent! the cut outs are simple but nifty the black looks very nice and white trim runs the border or the front and back, not bad eh.

Quality:

nothing buzzes, nothing is broken or needs replaced. this instrument came fully in tact and just needed tuned. fretboard seems even and playing it isn't strenuous if you are used to acoustic guitar. the sound is fairly prominent. I would only knock on this mandolins G string, it's a little muddled but not so much as to be a problem or anything.

Value:

you can't beat the value. of course it's not a pro instrument and you probably would want a better quality if you were going out to play shows but for starting I wouldn't have chosen anything different. it is easy to play sounds fine and gets you started.

Overall:

for the buck I doubt you could go wrong. it isn't top notch but it is playable and everything came in working condition! no buzzing on the strings, solid pick guard, tunes easily yata yata. I'd suggest this purchase any day if you are thinking about trying mandolin. my fellow musicians are impressed with such a deal. I was skeptical because rogue guitars have given me a few problems in the past, but they seem to make a more reliable low quality mandolin so give it a shot people.

Better Than I Expected, Inexpensive and Adequate

Features:

It's a mandolin, read the desc.

Quality:

It seems sturdy, but has finish flaws.

Value:

It's got a low price and decent quality.

Overall:

I have the black one and it looks nice.  It seems sturdy but the finish has flaws.  The hardware and frets function fine.  The intonation is acceptable.  This is very inexpensive, but not totally "cheap".  Overall it is better than I expected, and everything I need as an occasional piece.
