Comments about Alvarez AD610ESHB Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Travel for work so wanted a good sounding value price AE for the road. MF had these on sale and think this is the same as the AD60 with electronics MF seems to add the "1" to the Alvarez line for GC/MF exclusive runs.
Well finished, nice sounding solid top, really like the B-band for the plugged in sound. Built in tuner works well. Like that you can get to the 9 volt from the back of the guitar instead of the little bag inside that most that use 9 volts have. Smart design concept for the battery compartment, no reaching through the sound hole and having to take off or loosen the strings.
Tried out the same price range in other brands and to me the Alvarez sounds the best and at the price I paid a great value.
The body is gloss, hard to tell in the photos, and well done. The finish is not as thick as on some of the lower end brands. The neck is satin which is nice. Mine has a slight V shape to it, nothing extreme so be aware of that. To me the tone seems voiced in the range of a Taylor rather than a Martin or Gibson.
Mine came with the action a little high so sanded a bit off the saddle and had to adjust the truss rod some. Tuners seem to be a lower end "Grover" clone but work fine.
Great sounding beginner guitar or for any player wanting something cheap but good sounding to use out and leave your more expensive guitar at home as in my case.
Wish this level and value of guitars were around 30 years ago when I started playing.
