Comments about Alvarez AD710 Artist Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I just bought this as my backup/kick-around guitar. I play a Taylor 810ce and love it. This guitar is no Taylor, but it sounds great for the price. I needed a guitar that I could take outside and let students practice on. It needed to be cheap, play in tune, feel good, and sound descent. I found all of that in this guitar. I was comparing it to the Seagull Entourage Mini Grand and the Breadlove Passport. It was a tough call, but the Alvarez's rosewood back and sides made the sound pop. The bass booms making this a fairly full sounding guitar. I do wish it came with a case and electronics/built in tuner would have been nice. But, the guitar would have Likely been built with cheaper woods. The case or bag is a hidden cost, but not a big deal. I don't plan to plugin this guitar, so no big deal on the electronics.

So if you need a good guitar, get this one. It's simple and it's cheap. Oh, and after an hour of playing, it was still in tune.

Comments about Alvarez AD710 Artist Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Sound is amazing for the price, sounds better than most guitars with electronics double the price, plus I added a Fishman ProBlend wich cost me a little under 200, beautiful lows, warm mids, set of Elixers and it sounds better than my 00016.

This guitar meets my needs as a student with a few years experience. It is easy to play and has a bold, satisfying "voice." My teacher, a guitarist and instructor for over 60 years remarks on its fine tone quality. It is a well constructed instrument and beautiful.

Comments about Alvarez AD710 Artist Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I picked this up a little less than a year ago at Guitar Center and it was by far the fullest most vibrant instrument in the room. I was originally looking for a smaller bodied guitar but this one had such tasty overtones that i had to buy it. At first i got it set up professionally a half step down and cleaned up the action, there was some fret buzz to start but my neighborhood luthier evened it out, and when I returned to pick it up, he had nothing but compliments for this guitar and couldnt believe how fantastic it sounded. I had medium d'addarios on that bad boy tuned half step down for a while before i tried elixer mediums which were even better. now im back down to elixir ML's and brought it back to standard tuning, because even though the lower tuning was nice, it brought out the lows a little too much and this thing is rich on the low end, which is a problem with recording as it gets too muddy. now its a much better recording guitar. the aesthetic beauty of the rosewood back and sides always blew me away and i didnt realize that until i stepped out of guitar center, as in low light its a sort of gorgeous dark beauty. but the reason i am here is because today it was half in its case leaned against a wall, when suddenly a strange force made it fall straight forward and the headstock took the momentum and string tension badly and snapped. im pretty sad about that because im a music major and kind of rely on it but i think it should be repairable as it was a relatively clean break. i compared it to fender acoustics, seagulls, martins, and yamahas in the similar price range and it stuck out like a sore thumb. listening to it next to higher end t i feel like i would have to buy a much higher end guitar to have a discernably more high quality instrument such as this. BUY IT.

Comments about Alvarez AD710 Artist Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Got this as a stupid deal for half the street price. For that amount of money, it's a very good deal - the electronics are worth that. The guitar itself is very lively and has a strong, balanced sound.

There is a rattle inside which I have not yet identified, but tend to think is the pickup wiring flapping about. My friendly guitar tech couldn't find any loose bracing, spinning ball ends or anything concerning. The soundboard pickup was loose and had to be stuck on again with double sided tape.

In summary, sounds great and has some quality control issues which will add to the cost. Great deal.
