Comments about Alvarez AD710 Artist Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Got this as a stupid deal for half the street price. For that amount of money, it's a very good deal - the electronics are worth that. The guitar itself is very lively and has a strong, balanced sound.

There is a rattle inside which I have not yet identified, but tend to think is the pickup wiring flapping about. My friendly guitar tech couldn't find any loose bracing, spinning ball ends or anything concerning. The soundboard pickup was loose and had to be stuck on again with double sided tape.

In summary, sounds great and has some quality control issues which will add to the cost. Great deal.

Comments about Alvarez AD710 Artist Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I just bought this as my backup/kick-around guitar. I play a Taylor 810ce and love it. This guitar is no Taylor, but it sounds great for the price. I needed a guitar that I could take outside and let students practice on. It needed to be cheap, play in tune, feel good, and sound descent. I found all of that in this guitar. I was comparing it to the Seagull Entourage Mini Grand and the Breadlove Passport. It was a tough call, but the Alvarez's rosewood back and sides made the sound pop. The bass booms making this a fairly full sounding guitar. I do wish it came with a case and electronics/built in tuner would have been nice. But, the guitar would have Likely been built with cheaper woods. The case or bag is a hidden cost, but not a big deal. I don't plan to plugin this guitar, so no big deal on the electronics.

So if you need a good guitar, get this one. It's simple and it's cheap. Oh, and after an hour of playing, it was still in tune.
