Solid top. Solid tone. Solid choice.

The AG610ESHB is an elegant, cosmetically rich guitar with a powerful and open sound. The Shadowburst finish on this 610 is stunning, carefully crafted to produce a mirror deep shine and sophisticated appearance. It is fitted with the SYS250 3-band EQ with notch filter and backlit digital tuner.

After 50 years of making guitars, continual improvement through the use of emerging technologies, processes, and materials is still at the heart of Alvarez's culture. Alvarez guitars are constructed correctly in every sense, from raw material preparation to construction and manufacturing processes. Their tonewoods are carefully cured; components such as neck blocks and wood joints are carefully designed. The painting, sanding and polishing techniques used are continually researched and developed, and our tone is impeccably crafted and married to a stable, consistent and lively sound box.

This caring approach to development comes from one simple goal: To deliver the best guitars in the market at every price point, instruments that are truly amazing value and offer a fantastic player experience.

Artist Series
Alvarez believes their multi-award-winning Artist Series is one of the finest solid top guitar lines in the world today and demonstrates their commitment to design. The term “solid top” refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. However, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. The tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to optimize the energy a solid soundboard can generate. Artist Series is built to do exactly this.

Each model is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce balance, lively projection and great response. These components include our FST2 bracing system, bi-level rosewood bridge, real bone nut and saddle, great quality tone woods and thin finish. FST2 is a forward shifted X brace design, this means the axis of the X is closer to the sound hole and therefore creates a larger soundboard area allowing for more energy and vibration to be harnessed. Both the X braces and asymmetric tone bars are carefully scalloped. The scalloping design was the result of years of continual development in Alvarez's Yairi workshops.

The Artist Series sound and personality is open and powerful. FST2 also creates very good balance so both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other. Artist Series guitars feel right and are exciting to play; no matter if you are strumming hard or picking lightly, the guitar will do what you ask of it.

All of the Artist Series tops are selected by Alvarez's team and graded independently of suppliers. If it isn't worthy, it won't be used. Top quality improves as you move up the Artist Series models but all are stiff and finely grained. Along with a more angled headstock, their bi-level bridge increases string tension by making the break angle of the strings from the saddle to the top more acute. Improved string tension adds to the sound, feel and response, which are also heightened by the use of real bone nuts and saddles.

Comments about Alvarez AG610ESHB Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my 3rd Alvarez I've purchased from MF in the past few years (Parlor, Jumbo, and this Folk/Grand Auditorium). All of them have been of excellent quality and value. This model is not only my favorite amongst my Alvarez trio, but of all my acoustics...which includes Takamine's, Seagull's, Yamaha...

I find the Alvarez neck profile to be perfect for me for all styles of playing (flat pick, finger pick, etc.). What I like about this particular model is the 24.75" scale length (vs. the shorter scale on the Parlor or the longer scale on the Jumbo).

Setup out of the box was perfect. Fit and finish top notch - great gloss top. Great sound - balanced and tight. When I changed strings, I also added a yellow tortoise shell pickguard and changed out the bridge pins to Tusq presentation dot, which really makes this guitar look beautiful.

I don't spend a lot of money on guitars as I believe there are great values out there - this is the best example I've found to date...

Comments about Alvarez AG610ESHB Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have only had the guitar for two days but everytI me I walk passed it, I have to pick it up. It is a beautiful piece of wood.

It feels well constructed and sounds great. The only other mention-able guitar I have owned is the big baby taylor. I feel like this keeps up with that guitar no problem and I will get to use this for recording due to electronics.

The neck is quite a bit thicker than my other guitar but I see nothing wrong with that.

I played an alvarez in a music store and was highly impressed with the sound vs cost. I am glad I made this purchase.

Comments about Alvarez AG610ESHB Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

After a lot of research I took the chance on this guitar when a Stupid Deal of the Day made it really tempting. I love this girl. Super expressive to your picking and very balanced sound. Bright yet warm enough. I love this guitar. Might send it to a luthier for a custom set up, might not not sure yet.
