An affordable guitar with a hand-selected solid cedar top, rosewood back and sides, and B-BAND electronics.
This AG75CE Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric has similar dimensions to the Dreadnought, but a narrower waist helping to pronounce the treble notes a little more. Great for finger picking and strumming, the GA is an all rounder. This model is fitted with the SYS650 blend system with chromatic tuner. This is a stunning instrument.
The AG75CE is a member of the Artist Series 70’s, which are stunning guitars made from hand-selected A grade Sitka with rosewood backs and sides. The high gloss finish really brings out the beauty and grain in the rosewood and like all Artist Series they have advanced scalloped bracing and all natural components. Just like Artist ’60 models the ‘70’s have incredible tone and the rosewood helps to accentuate the highs and lows just a tad more.
The term “solid top” of course refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. However, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. The tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to really release the energy a solid soundboard can generate. The Artist Series is built to do exactly this.
Each model is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce a tone and player experience, rarely found in affordable instruments.
The sound is warm, open and powerful, and both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other. These guitars feel right and are exciting to play and responsive.
The solid ‘A’ grade cedar tops are hand selected from quarter-sawn wood. This ensures consistent quality, and its no secret better guitars are made from better wood. These tops not only look great but they are stiff and strong and finely grained. This allows them to be cut just that tiny bit thinner, which lets them dance a little more and produce a lot more vibration, and ultimately a richer tone.
New Artist Series guitars look stunning and all of their components are made of natural materials such as mother of pearl and abalone inlays, real bone saddles and nuts and rosewood appointments.
SYS650 dual pickup
The Alvarez SYS650 was designed by B-BAND and is a dual pickup system incorporating one under saddle pickup and a transducer pickup placed under the soundboard. Either pickup can be selected or one can blend between the two to fine tune the response for lead, finger-picking or rhythm work. The system also has a fully chromatic, precision tuner with backlit LCD screen, 3-bands of rotary EQ, and a notch control that can be used to attenuate feedback or to shape the sound.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AG75CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I admit that I had my eye out for an Alvarez acoustic guitar for some time as I needed an instrument to play in small to medium venues at church. I was looking for a quality instrument that would do the job and yet wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. This was one of the three Alvarez models I was looking at and when it came up on MF as a level 2 used item, I went for it. The grand auditorium body shape is one of my favorites. So, I was ready to be happy with it even before I got it. Upon receipt, I was pleased to discover that the instrument's condition was better than the "very good" rating designated by the level 2 label. The set up was near perfect and even the strings did not need immediate replacement. I think that I probably gave the guitar more wear and tear in the first several weeks I've owned it than it had incurred since it was brand new. If anything, I like it better now than when I first got it. Therefore, so far, so good. Let's see how I feel in six months or a year.
