A hand-selected solid top, center scalloped bracing, with impressive tone and power.

The Alvarez Artist Series AP710SB Parlor Acoustic Guitar is a stunning instrument made with a hand-selected A grade Sitka top with rosewood back and sides. The high gloss finish really brings out the beauty and grain in the rosewood and like all Artist Series this one has advanced scalloped bracing and premium all natural components. Just like Artist ’60 models the ‘70’s have incredible tone and the rosewood helps to accentuate the highs and lows just a tad more.

This little parlor guitar is one of the most popular models in the whole Alvarez line. It has fantastic energy and response for its size and it’s incredibly comfortable to play. Center-scalloped bracing was used for this parlor, which lets the top really react to the finest of touches. This probably makes you play this small-bodied guitar differently to how you would larger instruments, which leads to all sorts of great stuff.

The term “solid top” refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. However, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. The tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to really release the energy a solid soundboard can generate. The all-new Artist Series is built to do exactly this.

Each model is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce a tone and player experience, rarely found in affordable instruments. The sound is warm, open and powerful, and both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AP710SB Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

This Alvarez parlor guitar has an immediacy of
response that is very satisfying when playing
fingerstyle blues. It feels wide awake!
My last two guitars were a cheaper Epiphone EL-00
and a more expensive Simon & Patrick Woodland sunburst folk. Both guitars were disappointing.
They just didn't have the feel I was looking for.
The Alvarez AP710SB does, in spades!

A cheap guitar for writing or just messing sround. It's worth the money but if you shop around you can find a better guitar for a similar price.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AP710SB Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

I think that I was expecting more from Alvarez on this one. I ended up returning it because the saddle was cut poorly as which affected the spacing of the strings. I may or may not accept an exchange and give this one more try. The phrase " it is what it is" comes to mind. One cold do better in this price range.

Bright, good sustain, even volume, stays in tune, no intonation problems, no fret buzzing, easy and fun to play, top notch fit and finish with the exception of tuning machines not precisely positioned before installing screws. Forgivable considering all else and the price. overall an A plus value.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AP710SB Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

This is a nice guitar with a cool vibe. Very comfortable to take anywhere, everywhere. For me this wouldn't be my only guitar. I would pick a dreadnought. But past that it fills a lot of spots. It's a fantastic couch guitar and patio great for beginners too. Also for that "blues vibe sound" this is it. Really, I have many expensive guitars that are great. I'm not opposed to paying for high end guitars. BUT...the blues players in the 30s and 40s didn't buy super expensive guitars from Gibson they got what they could and made that sound. So for me it's counter intuitive to pay big bus for stellar wood choices etc etc when going for that gritty sound. This does it! Also this is a fantastic finger style guitar. Wider nut with, low action. Whew. Nice! Mine had acceptable frets and action. It didn't NEED anything but I did have a tech go over it and dial it in round the fret ends etc etc. it came about 90 % 0f what it is now. That last 10 % was nice and made this a great guitar. But out of the box it is really good and as well it is a fun take everywhere instrument.

This guitar immediately became my love. But, developed a 5" crack under the sound hole to the left. They're apparently scarce so having a hard time getting a replacement. Heard of another case of crack same place?

I love this guitar. just don't want to put it down,(but then I get the snakeeye from my wife) anyway this little guitar is outstanding plays great, well balanced sounds full and rich, my jaw just dropped it sounds that good. workmanship is very good, fit and finish is perfect!
this is my first parlor guitar, have always played jumbos & dreds. I found most parlors sounded thin and boxie without much volume. however this little guitar cut rite threw a room full of martins and banjos at the weekly jam the other night. like I said before I LOVE THIS GUITAR!

I played this guitar a few weeks ago and I really liked the sound. Really rich, deep bass, and smooth, clean highs. So I bought it yesterday! It's also really big-sounding. I love the shorter scale. Every string is really well-pronounced. The sunburst finish looks really well-done. Every aspect of this guitar feels professional. I've owned high end Gibson and Fender instruments as well as a ton of other nice gear and this one would stand up to any of it any day. It's most likely going to be my go-to guitar for everything.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AP710SB Parlor Acoustic Guitar:

I saw this beautiful "classical-looking" guitar and picked it up and played it...I was impressed with the sound and LOVED the feel of it. You'll know what I mean if you ever get the chance to play one. I played this guitar everytime I was in the store for the next couple weeks, and finally had to buy it. I'm glad I did! It has become one of my favorite guitars to play and I have a few to choose from. I put new strings on and it holds its tuning, no problems. After it sits for awhile I do have to tune it up a bit, or down, depending on where I am and weather conditions...but, that's true with all of 'em. It does sound great...I am still surprised a smaller parlor style guitar can have so much volume, when needed, and if finger picking, it responds incredibly well. I normally use a pick and you can get aggressive with this guitar and it doesn't hold back...just be careful with the finish as there is no pickguard. But that would've ruined the look of it imo. And the feel...just incredible and very comfortable to play. It was a bit strange at first holding a smaller guitar, but within a few minutes I fell in love with the feel. This guitar is worth every penny...no doubt about it. And I want to thank the Alvarez company for their incredible customer service...thee absolute best and easiest call I've ever had with any company...and these guys aren't a small company. Thanks again to Alvarez for that, and for building some of the finest guitars I've ever played. Check out this guitar btw...you'll love it.
