Its a BC Rich.... Enough said.... if you are expecting good sound.... dont buy it. If you are into grungy distorded unprofessional sounding garbage and you shop at hot topic... This is the guitar for you. I played it because it looked cool and felt like breaking it cuz it sounded so terrible
I played this guitar in a local store recently, and this guitar when set up with the right amp and effects absolutely SCREAMS when you want it to, and challenges my Warlock for sound. Graphics are sweet as hell. Pictures don't do it justice. The lack of a trem bar is a minus for me, but not for everyone. If it's warm rhythms or facemelting solo's you're after, check this guitar out. You wont be disappointed.I'm saving my pennies...
I bought the 40 lashes, and it is perfect. Smooth action, sounds loud, clear and strong. The only thing I would have liked if it had jumbo frets, but they are still ok. Get one, you will not be sorry at all. This price is excellent for a limited stamped axe.
This guitar has been my best weapon since I first got it a year ago! B.C. Rich created a monster in this guitar! If you play metal or rock this guitar will do it for anyone.... the one I have is the Vampirella Model!
I am a die hard metal head, and I'd normally gravitate to the Warlock series. The 40 Lashes Mockingbird caught my eye when I was looking for a new lead axe, so I figured I'd try it out. I've gotta say, this is a fantastic guitar for the price! Out of the box, unplugged, it projects very well when played, a sure sign of quality woods & workmanship. I put it through my Zoom unit and my amp rig, and the sound was simply incredible. The stock pickups might be a bit anemic alone, but that's an easy fix with either new pickups or an FX unit. All in all, I found this to be a very playable guitar with good sound and a fast neck. Enjoy!!
The guitar plays pretty well. Low action. Out of the box it tuned right up and intonation was very close. The guitar looks cool and balances well. The pickups are okay but the volume knob doesn't work. Downside is the body wood. It uses a really light wood and it has a very thin sound. If you need a guitar for carrying around, jamming, and you don't care if it gets knocked about, this is a good guitar for the price. I wouldn't pay full retail for it though.
Man the person from Michigan who wrote the bad review is an obvious idiot! The sound quality of my Mockingbird is perfect. The price and artwork is very impressive. The Platinum qaulity is exactly that. The tone is killer and long lasting.I also love the action and how this guitar plays.I've already played a live show with it, and there was no problems.Go stick your head back in that snowbank Mr Michigan.
What a great deal! Thanks MF for sending some savings our way. I got the Spiro Light which arrived in perfect condition. All I had to do was tune up the light gauge strings, which were pretty decent. The action was already set up fast and it plays great. Nice chunky thick sound-perfect for hard rock and metal. I also own a Warlock. For those unfamiliar with B.C. Rich, these are excellent guitars with good quality, even at the lower level. These commenerative guitars are made with more extras- diamond inlays, 3+3 tuners, and a cool looking graphic.
Dude from michigin, shut up about crap you dont know. This guitar is one of many avalible in our recording studio and this is the most used of 20 electrics. This guitar has a great sound for the style i play and record, a highly liked guitar from my and many other leadss views. Not a stage guitar though...
