BC Rich. Company made to play metal. And only metal. This guitar does what its intended to do. It shreds through any other guitar I know of for that kind of price. There is a 24 fret scale, one stock bc rich pick up, and an awesome body. There are some small complaints about this guitar I do have. If your a person who plays speed like Dragonforce, you might want to look at a better guitar, because of the simple fact the stock pick up doesn't get too much distortion, and the sound doesn't sound too good. It would have been nice if there was a tone knob. For the most part, this guitar does what its indeed to do, beyond what you think a guitar for this much could do. This guitar doesn't sound as good as standard bronze warlock would be, but the tremelo bar makes up for that easily. If you're looking for a cheap Bc rich. This guitar is worthwhile. I've had mine for roughly 4 months, and nothings occered but pure shreding madness. This guitar I recommend for beginners, and advanced players who want a cheap back up guitar with a wicked sense of style.

My friend and I are both guitar players, and he owns this guitar. I, in the past, thought about buying it just for the fact that it looks cool and it is at an affordable price. After actually playing it, I realized that this guitar isn't exactly my style. The sound quality is horrible. These guitars are supposed to deliver a "heavy" sound, but when it's played, it sounds like someone had covered the amp with thousands of pillows. Even in drop C tunning, it doesn't sound heavy at all (despite what my friend claims), Which personally I hate drop tuneing. So if you want to sound heavy, look for another guitar. When played clean, it also sounds horrible. The neck is thick and uncomfortable to me, and just the over-all feel of the guitar is bulky and uncomfortable. I can get a more clear and satisfying sound out of my cheap 10 year old J.B. Player Sledge Hammer (which is basically a telecaster knock off.), which has its soap box pick-up falling out.

Entry level metal guitar

By Usetherightstrings24

This guitar is made for entry level metal heads. It's low cost, has a humbucker for hi-gain playings, and a tremelo for the dive bomber in training. If you're going to be playing in a low drop tuning fyi, get heavy guage strings like .60 or higher otherwise you get a dull flabby sound. Just because you're detuned on regular .42-.46's doesn't mean its going to sound great. You will have to adjust the truss rod to compensate for the strings tension, and may need to change the nut as the guitar is designed for .09-.42

Oh My!

The day I got this guitar I loved It. That was back when I played lead in my band. The second day i had it, I had about 6 offers to buy it. I am still in love with this guitar, and it DOES fit in the white coffin case bass case. It is a visual stunner, and a knockout metal guiatr, though the features are a bit, well, bad. Even then, It is an awesome guitar. Worth more than I paid for it!!!

The Warlock and I are inseperable

I have had my guitar a month. This is an amazingly diverse guitar. I took it to my guitar mechanic and had him go through it and adjust everyhting right after I recieved it. He said it was in pretty good shape already. Added two springs and put new Blue Steel strings on it. I am very happy. It is totally me. I plug uit into my LINE6 Spider II 212 and it really sounds great. I recommend this guitar for all who love to play. It is made for schredding and heavy. Just my cup of tea. Lovin It!!!!!p.s. It is a stand up and jam guitar not sit around and jam. Only problem- had to tighten the 1/4 input, big deal?!?

Holy Hell!

By Ravage-VNmLu

From The time I lifted the cover off of the box I knew I was in for a ride. The only problem I've had with the guitar it the bolt where the cord goes in got loose and fell off. Other than that this is an awesome lead guitar. I played a shred on it for my friend, who is the rhythm guitartist in the band, and he was breathless. The picks wear out easily tho. But I just love this guitar. Its a killer guitar. Cheap too and great quality.

Does what it was meant to do very well.

By dirt-spFrK

My 9 yr. old son got this for Christmas and we have been very pleased. This guitar is a hard rock or metal guitar and does what it is meant for very well. Between me and my two sons we own this(my 9yr olds) an Epiphone Dot and LP Jr(my twelve year olds)two Kramers-one from the 80s and one newer one- and a Fender custom HH Tele.(mine) The Warlock is the best for metal followed by the two Kramers. My son likes AC/DC Weezer and Green Day a lot, this is suitable for all of these. The tuners are not plastic just the covers and the jack plate. The neck is smoth thin and fast the action is very low and the sound has a good crunch to it great for rock music. This thing is also pretty light so it won't wear you out. The tremelo even stays in tune well. I would deffanetly recommend and am considering a Mockingbird(with two humbuckers) for myself.

Awesome guitar for an awesome price. The only complaint is no tone controls. Pair it up with a line six and you don't have to worry about tone. I recommend it for a begginer and even experienced players.

Not Bad.

I just recently traded an old peavey for one of these, which I actually think was a good deal. This guitar is nothing compared to my others ( ESP LTD-F250, Fender Strat, Fender Acoustic, Yamaha Pacifica etc.. ), but it is an excellent guitar for me to teach people on. For the price it's quality is great, and the look still makes an impression. If you're a beginner, get this, if not, I recommend ESP :).

Great Buy At This Price!

By Monty

from Milwaukee, WI

I purchased this product on sight alone. When I received the guitar, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality workmanship. The neck was straight and most guitars are not 24 fret. Right out of the box this guitar is an excellent performer. If you want more shred out of this guitar, a different pickup might be selected for your own playing style. Other than that, I would recommend this to any guitar player on a budget.

Great Guitar to Learn Leads!

By MusicMan123456

from Savannah, GA

See all my reviews

I bought this guitar expecting to have to do alot out of the box. Other than change the strings (they're crap, don't even waste time tuning them) and lowering the action (personal choice) I have had no problems. When they put the pick-up in, they must have known where I was going to put the action because it's perfect. The frets are filed nicely, and the neck feels very, very smooth. If you don't lower the action, there is no fret buzz at all. The strap and picks and stuff are pretty crappy, but the gig bag is pretty nice. All in all, a great guitar to learn leads and I would actually suggest this over a Platinum or Platinum Pro series guitar anyday. Great job Musician's Friend!

amazing axe

This was my very first guitar and I have to say I am very pleased. This B.C. Rich warlock is a great guitar if you are on a low budget or just starting. Heavy use of the whammy bar will make the guitar go out of tune but except for that everything from the neck to how it sounds is amazing.

Nice Guitar

By Rockfrk5

from Auburn, N.Y.

This guitar rocks and has a few extra frets which makes it convenient when it comes to hitting high frets during a solo. It doesn't have very good features though. It just has one volume knob and that's it. This is a great beginner's guitar. If you are a beginner this is a very good guitar for you. If you want a guitar with shocking looks and you are into small gigs this guitar is for you. Although it sounds great, if your looking for features this is not your guitar.

its good

As I said in the title it's good, simple as that.I gave features a seven because there is nothing unaverage about it except the look. The neck is amazing and it stays in tune fairly well like maybe after an hour or a half you'll have to tune it. It's very easy to scrape the paint off the corners and hitting your funny bone on those things is terrible. Anyway if you're looking foward to buying a guitar and you think for a split second to get it, well do it.

Good guitar, Great looks, Excellent price!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I got this guitar about a month ago as an extra guitar to have. It is a great guitar for the price and it looks GREAT! I have it hanging up on my wall. If you want a first guitar or an extra guitar to jam around with this is perfect. If you want a high quality guitar this probably isn't for you. Though it is a pretty good quality things about it are cheap. The tuning knobs are plastic. The strings aren't too good. They were very dirty when I got it. It stays in tune pretty well I found. It's also a rock or metal guitar so no country music! It comes with a cord which I wasn't expecting, that was cool. The strap is pretty thin but stays on well. The bag that came with it is pretty nice, with backpack-like straps. The picks are crap. Overall a good guitar and a nice player pack. I recommend it.

Warlock

By Billdo

from South Windsor, CT

This is a great guitar for beginners, but if you arent just starting guitar, I wouldn't recommend it. The sound is pretty sick for the price, but I found it comes untuned alot. Ill be playing it for 2 minutes and then go back, and it wont be in tune, this is extremely annoying. Maybe im doing something wrong i dont know. But overall, its pretty good for the price.

AWESOME AX

By Nady rules us all

from Detroit

See all my reviews

I got this guitar a little over 2 months ago and i love it. Right out of the box the intonation was almost perfect. The unfinished neck is a nice touch. The pickup is really nice sounding clean or dirty but i did replace it for a ZW-EMG. The trem is nice, doesnt really throw it out of tune as bad as i expected. The only thing i see wrong with it is its tuners. They do come detuned with even a mild bend(you can tune so a dive on the trem will re-tune it) so i did replace them with some grovers. All in all an AWESOME AX! totally buy it! I still favor my Les Paul with a Floyd Rose double lock but hey, cant go wrong for the cash

Confused

By Sherm-n.BqF

from Cincinnati

Where is the double truss rod? Maybe they mean double action? Has a mini strat style pot needs a better pot for sure. Adjust the six screws on the tremolo mine had one that was too tight and I thought the trem just didn't pivot but it does after adjustment-very smooth now. I took off one trem spring you may keep all three on if you have heavier strings. If you put a Fernandes skull knob on it you will have to replace the pot with a full size pot because it will drag and scratch the body paint. Replace the pot anyway. My fretboard had a dot that had to be reglued but I reset it with some superglue. Still a beautiful guitar and quite a bargain, definitely a keeper. I put a DiMarzio Joe PAF pickup in it and it is sweeeeet. The stock pickup is o.k. but could be replaced to reveal this guitars true quality. The original pickup does not say B.C. Rich like it should. B.C.Rich is phenomenal.
