Balanced tone and full sustain, this guitar is a truly intimidating killer.

The JRV Standard Electric Guitar has the insane kind of V-body that B.C. Rich knows a thing or two about. Built on a screaming design, the JRV guitar's body is crafted from nato wood, offering strength and resillience, no matter what the road throws at it. The C-shaped maple neck, 24-5/8" scale, 12" radius, and 1-11/16" nut width keep your fret hand comfortable while you're running across the rosewood fretboard's 24 frets.

For electronics, B.C. Rich selected Rockfield mafia pickups, adding balance and sustain to the JRV guitar package. Ceramic magnets give the pickups extra power due to their increased magnetic field. This makes Mafia pickups deliver hotter and thicker tone that's also aggressive and full. The B.C Rich V guitar's increased low end, thick mids, and in-your-face highs are what rock and roll was built on.

Other desirable appointments on the B.C. Rich JRV guitar include a Floyd Rose special bridge, volume and tone controls, a 3-way pickup selector, die-cast tuners, black hardware, and a gloss finish to round out the package.

Comments about B.C. Rich JRV Standard Electric Guitar:

I have had eleven or twelve guitars in the last twenty five years. A B.C. Rich Warlock and a Mockingbird- both lower-end models from the mid 1980's among them. B.C. Rich has slipped a little in my humble opinion. While I am impressed with the Floyd Rose on the JRV (IT STAYS IN TUNE) right out of the box, I was bothered by the poor paint job. There was a run/splotch imperfection in the finish. Granted, it was on the back of the guitar, but there none the less. The tuner for the E string on the headstock had one of two screws screwed in at such an angle, the head of the screw was not seated fully. While these two gripes are minor in severity, it was a let down. For what I paid, I would say the guitar is a good beginner's model. I have always loved the cool shapes from B.C. Rich, and the JRV standard just screams Rock-N-Roll. The red-color paint is beautiful, and the V-shaped inlays in the fret-board are a nice touch as well. The knobs and switches seemed solid enough, and the pickups sounded ok. I bought the SKB V-shape guitar case for the guitar as Musician's Friend did not have a B.C. Rich hardshell case for the JRV. The case IS NOT a good match for the guitar. The neck is not supported in the case, and the guitar does not settle down flat in the cut-out area. The lid does not close completely unless you push the lid down and fasten the latches. The area of the neck/body joint and guitar strap button seems to be the culprit of the poor fit. Perhaps the biggest let down, and the final nail in the coffin was the box the guitar came in. The guitar was damaged in shipment. When I got the guitar out of the box, the packing was broken, and the guitar was free to move about inside the box. The body to neck joint was damaged both top and bottom from the wild ride in shipping to my front door. Musician's Friend promptly took care of me and sent me return shipment labels for both the case and guitar, and refunded my money. You CAN buy from Musician's Friend with confidence, and know they stand behind the gear! I would say the JRV standard has some great features for the money, and is pretty solid overall for a beginner's model. I just wish a little more TLC went into the guitar. It shook my confidence a little to see that B.C. Rich's quality control let this one out of the factory without addressing the afore mentioned flaws. (I still love you, B.C. Rich)....just do better next time!

Comments about B.C. Rich JRV Standard Electric Guitar:

This guitar is really nice, i love the paint color and the feel of the guitar is great. It has 24 frets instead of the usual 22 or 21 so a big plus. The only disadvantage is the preparation of changing or tightening strings since it is a Floyd Rose Bridge. If you want to use heavier strings you have to adjust the springs in the back but other than that the guitar is practically flawless and i love it!

        Great Guitar!!!!

Comments about B.C. Rich JRV Standard Electric Guitar:

First off, the picture on the website does this guitar no justice. This guitar is bad a$$. i just got this guitar and its my first v and first guitar with a floyd rose.the guitar is amazing. it took awhile getting used to playing it sitting down, (which i had to get a strap for it) the floyd rose holds tune really good no matter how mcuh i pound on it. the pickups are decent through my peavey vypyr 15w. i was always told not to buy bc rich guitars because of their bad quality on their cheaper guitars but i dont think i could find anything better for the price, this guitar is amazing. if your looking for a guitar to shred all night long this is it. BUY IT!!!

        Good Sound...GREAT flaw.

Comments about B.C. Rich JRV Standard Electric Guitar:

I just got this guitar today, and I gotta say, it's amazing. the sound is awesome even through my little fender amp, floyd rose trem is great, the only thing i found wrong with it...was that SOMEONE, forgot to put the strap button on there. I was searching for the strap buttons and managed to find one where it should be below the neck, then as i was looking for the other one, i got frustrated, and went on the BC rich website to see where the strap button should be. after checking back, low and behold, there was nothing but a hole where the other strap button should have been. Great guitar, big flaw... overall buy this one.
