I own 9 electric guitars ranging in value from $200 up to $1600. I was shocked by the very high build quality and gorgeous appearance of this guitar, especially for the price spent. Came with low string action right out of the box, proper intonation, zero fret buzz. The quilt top is so much more beautiful in person than the pictures suggest. It's gorgeous. The fret ends are perfectly cut and polished and the body and headstock binding are flawless. The attention to finish detail on this thing is amazing. It plays like a dream and the stock pickups sound very nice, both clean and wildly distorted. The volume and tone controls are tight and the pots are good. The pickup selector switch seems a little cheap, being somewhat loose in the middle position, but it functions perfectly and noiselessly with zero rattling. The tuners are nice and the Bich stays in tune well. I wish I could send a personal thank you to the workers at the factory where this axe was built. Simply stellar execution on their part. I love it!

I'm not sure what people are thinking when they say it's better than a Gibson Les Paul because it's NO WHERE near a Gibson. The guitar's distortion is weak, the awkward positioning of the output jack makes it hard to play sitting down, and the it doesn't have the best sound clean either. You get what you pay for.

Comments about B.C. Rich Masterpiece Bich Electric Guitar:
I owned an NJ Series BICH in the 90's when I gigged regular, sold it, regretted doing so. When the opportunity came along for me to own another, especially THIS one, I jumped on it. I don't regret a single thing about doing so, and highly recommend this guitar to anyone who wants quaity tone and superir playability, as well as a killer look while doing it. For the money, it's no-brainer!
It's a passive eletronics set-up, but the stock p-ups sound amazing and hot. Coupled with my Ibanez, it sounds like two different guitarists are playing on my recordings. Her voice goes from ingenue sweetness to snarling, screaming, and all points in between. The neck is the thinnest I have ever played, and the batwing shape takes me back to 8s Aerosmith. Set-up was flawless, intonation right on. The string-thru body is a nice touch, and adds to the sustain even tho her curved body is oh so very light....and her skintight action sez..."Play me fast and loose, Daddy!"
The build of mine is flawless...red finish is luxrious, binding and all edges satin smooth. Frets? Like SILK...fit and finish are great! I keep mine in a gig bag and use a Snark to tune up with...lots of times it's dead on, right out of the bag, so no complaints on the stock machines.
I'm quite sure that G-son makes great guitars...I just never could afford them, especially when I can score a gem that was set up perfectly right out of the box for at least a quarter of what a Paul would cost me. I 'm primarily a recording artist/studio guy, and I just love the tones I get from this BICH Masterpiece for what I paid.

just pickd up this ax and it is amazing, fret work was perfect, neck is perfect, and intonation was almost right on the money, very little set up right out of the box.this ax in dragon's blood is a deadly looking beast for sure
Comments about B.C. Rich Masterpiece Bich Electric Guitar:
I got a used (like new) Dragon's Blood Bich. Aside from the crappy fit and finish of the fretwire, its a very nice guitar. I once owned and Epiphone Les Paul Std and I like this better. They sound similar but the neck and feel of this guitar is much more comfortable. I do not like the fact they described it as like new, but the center of the back has some pretty substantial scratches in an area about the size of my hand.
Comments about B.C. Rich Masterpiece Bich Electric Guitar:
this guitar is pretty decent. It basically has a lot of stock items. Its pickups are pretty good, i raised my bridge pickup which made it sound pretty good. it has a pretty good clean channel sound and a really good neck feel. For the money this guitar is great.
Comments about B.C. Rich Masterpiece Bich Electric Guitar:
My friend owns one of these and I have been borrowing it for an extensive amount of time since my Ibanez JTK1 broke. In terms of features it's not mindblowing, but the pickups are decent and the five way switch combined with the different volume knobs for each pickup give a decent range of tonality. It's playability is only slightly above average, like others have said, it's decent for melodic rock, but this is no metal machine. Decent, for the money I suppose though. If you are looking for something for metal, I strongly would suggest trying out the Schecter C1 Hellraiser.
Comments about B.C. Rich Masterpiece Bich Electric Guitar:
overall a great value for the money and yes i've read all the comparisons to the les paul and having played both i would buy this over a les paul studio but not over a standard or custom. the rich bich of the late seventies was a magnificent guitar and this model can't really live up to that but unless you want to shell out a couple grand i would recommend it
Comments about B.C. Rich Masterpiece Bich Electric Guitar:
I got it awhile back and I a Paul I like this one way better. Get this guitar.
Comments about B.C. Rich Masterpiece Bich Electric Guitar:
Nice thin neck, rosewood fretboard, overall has a great feel! Real nice for any 70s melodic rocklike Boston, or Thin Lizzy, to my ear it has great tone. Clean sounds were best, I think thebridge pickup is a bit weak for heavier metal, the Seymour Duncan pickups in my Warlock are farsuperior as far as that goes...Having played Gibson Les Pauls' ,I would say the Les Pauls' have a much 'fatter' distortion.Good value for the money, but changing the pickups recommended.
Comments about B.C. Rich Masterpiece Bich Electric Guitar:
This guitar looks amazing, and the best part is it feels like a feather on my shoulders after playing my les paul. The neck is slim and has more space between the strings than usual but I like that anyway. All the fret bars are smooth, and the guitar plays very fast and easy. The pickups are nice, but ovbiously not as good as emg's or seymours. There was only a couple scratches below the pickups when it came in, I've seen worse with new guitars. The strings do buzz a little bit, but I should be able to fix that by putting on heavier strings. Tuners were a little stiff, but the guitar does stay it tune quite well. It's not the most comfortable guitar sitting down, but like I said, its very light weight so you can play it all day standing up. Overall, a good quality guitar for a small price.
