OVERVIEW

A monstrously powerful set of features for killer sound and looks.

The Warbeast NJ Deluxe electric guitar from B.C. Rich boasts an ebony fretboard and full pearl binding on the headstock, neck and body. Other deluxe features include neck-through constuction, EMG pickups and a Floyd Rose Original Tremolo.

Neck-Through Construction

B.C. Rich is known as one of the pioneers in neck through construction. They use it on many of their guitars, because it provides the best possible sustain, resonance, comfort and access to higher frets. Neck-through has long been considered the premium construction method for high-end guitars. This construction starts with a long piece (or pieces) of premium North American maple. That piece runs from the tip of the headstock to the strap button on the opposite end of the guitar. This means that the headstock, fingerboard, pickups and bridge all are mounted to this single sound foundation. Sonically it is a difference you can hear. The neck-through construction also allows more of the body and neck to be cut away at the neck joint, which provides comfort no bolt-on or set-neck could offer. You will find the neck through feature on all top of the line B.C. Rich models.

EMG-81 (bridge position)

The EMG-81 is a high output pickup designed especially for the lead guitarist. The 81 is at its best for high volume overdrive and amps with a master volume. Whether you're playing power rock and roll, or overdriving your amp, there's a razor sharp attack, and incredible sustain for brilliant soloing. If you're looking for exceptional qualities in a rock pickup, the EMG-81 is the one.

EMG-85 (neck position)

Although the EMG-85 has more measurable output than the 81, its frequency response and string interface are different. The 85 uses two Alnico magnet loaded coils with a wide aperture to maintain a beefy low end and a fatter top end. Because of a more natural tone, it works great as a rhythm and blues pickup because it has loads of output but isn't muddy.

Flat Top

Some of the B.C Rich shapes are offered with a flat top. The flat top styling gives a bold and pristine look to the edge of the instrument's shape. Usually when the flat top feature is used, B.C. Rich adds a stripe of single or multi-ply binding around the edge in a complementary color. The binding on a flat top finishes off the edge cleanly and gives a sleek and clean look to the guitar.

The Rise of The Warbeast

What do you get when a ruthless Warlock picks a vile Beast to bear its spawn? A Warbeast of course! The twisted minds at B.C. Rich combined the ultra-in-your-face upper and lower horns from the Beast with the more comfortable rear of a Warlock - there's a joke in there somewhere... The Warbeast however, is not joking! Ripping the heads off of lesser axes - the Warbeast is on the prowl.

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Warbeast Electric Guitar:

The paint job on this guitar sucked. It was half brown where someone did not finish painting it. It was so obvious there is no way this guitar was shipped to my home without someone noticing the obvious flaw.

This is definitely one menacing looking axe!!

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Warbeast Electric Guitar:

This guitar is definitely made for heavy metal and will stand out in the crowd while drawing attention. You wouldn't really bring this type of guitar to your Church choir on Sundays or play country music around a campfire with it, but it does turn heads and gets respect from others!

This is my first BC Rich guitar and I am really impressed with it. Actually it was the Warlock guitar that initially attracted my attention after seeing so many metal band play with it on stage. But when I found out about the Warbeast, I like the body style and look of the guitar even more.

The only thing that I don't like about this guitar is the sharp edge protruding from the botttom front part of the body where it sits on your lap (just below the neck pickup). If you have thin thighs, then the groove would fit right it when you play sitting down. But for those who have thicker thighs, then you are going to feel this edge dig right into your inner thigh. I wish that this was a bit wider with a smoother edge.

But even without using any distortion pedal, the guitar sounds pretty good played clean too!
Well, no need to explain all the features here as you can found out on BC Rich's website. But I really like the feel of the neck and fretboard. The guitar i/m/o feels lighter than other guitars and wonder if it was chambered inside (it's not but it feels like it). Really like the tuners, EMG pups and the Floyd Rose tremolo bar although I am more of a Kahler tremolo system guy. The volume, 3 way switch and tone knobs are placed just about right for me. The axe could use an EMG SPC to fatten the tone up a bit, but you can modify the guitar yourself which I am thinking of doing.
Great quality wood, great sustain and obviously a great marriage of EMG 81/85 pickups combo!! I really like the headstock as it looks like some kind of trident spear to poke at people who get in your way on stage!!!

I would like to see some kind of fretboard position markers such as lighting bolts or skull designs on the wood itself.
I think a guitar of this nature is priced about right. I used a coupon on this order.

bc rich nails another fine axe

          By warbeast23

          from nw indiana

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Warbeast Electric Guitar:

ok, im gonna put a solid thorough review here so be ready to read. to start off, the mahogany wood is excellent wood as you may know, and the emg 81 is a great pickup for any kind of rock or metal with sustain for days. the grover tuners are SUPERB and its a shame theyre not on a nutless fretboard because theyre a pure pleasure to use. best tuners EVER. the original floyd rose is as good as it gets but might need so adjusting when you get it if you play on anything bigger or smaller than 10s or 11s due to minimal rattle. no biggie though. i didnt rate thr quality very high because mine had some noticable flaws after the fretboard clamps where the pearl binding is but im not fretting it much. and as for the ebony fretboard. MAGNIFICENT. very high grade rich, dense ebony. as good as it gets for this price. unlike rosewood and cheaper quality ebony boards, this isnt even noticable when the strings rub the board. the action was medium low when i got it, which is fine because i like the added tone from high action

          Screaming Warbeast !

          By Metallica Fan-TYOXA

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Warbeast Electric Guitar:

I just got this guitar out of the box and plugged it up to a Vox VT50. This thing is set up perfect for me...low action and I have no problem hitting awesome pinched harmonics. The looks are intimadating to say the least. The EMG's growl and I have sustain for days. If you can ...it's worth the money. It does hurt you a little if your sitting...so stand and give this warbeast a little respect!

          Warbeast

Comments about B.C. Rich NJ Deluxe Warbeast Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar a few months now. It has the sustain and tone you can expect from a neck through B.C. Rich guitar. The neck has a nice feel to it. Not too thick or thin. Be prepared to do a complete set up on this guitar when you recieve it. It is set up for around 9-10 gauge strings, and if you play tuned below E then save yourself some time and set it up when you get it. Pick ups and all. The factory strings sent on this guitar are garbage too. So be prepared to take them off and restring it first thing. Otherwise you will do like I did. Plug it in and think it sounds like crap. After the set up and restringing this guitar is exactly what you would want it to be. Very deep tone, and of course the EMG pick ups make the Warbeast a force to be reckoned with! If you play any type of metal this guitar will do the job nicely. From power/prog to death metal...and the price is the best deal(I shopped around).
