The BG-40 delivers delicious traditional tone with smooth playability.

Crafted with a select solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a traditional dovetail neck joint for pure tone. Traditional slope-shoulder construction with a 16" lower bout and 24-3/4" scale length. Exclusive diamonds-and-snowflakes pearl inlay motif delivers vintage vibe. The slim mahogany neck makes it a truly enjoyable guitar to play.

Blueridge BG-series guitars are made with the same techniques as their vintage American counterparts, including many by-hand processes. Like the best instruments, Blueridge guitars aren't overbuilt; they're crafted to be light and resonant. Meticulous attention to detail and quality craftsmanship are evident in the traditional hand-carved parabolic X-bracing which allows the solid spruce top to ring loud and true. All Blueridge BG-series guitars feature a traditional dovetail neck joint, slim mahogany neck, adjustable truss rod, and vintage-style tuning machines with an updated mechanism for modern precision and feel.

Value far exceeds the price tag!!!

Comments about Blueridge BG-40 Contemporary Series Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I LOVE this guitar. It has such a full, loud tone that carries beautifully, and my Historic model has a gorgeous finish. I've played it against a Gibson Hummingbird Pro but my BG-40 "won" in my eyes. My ideal guitar is a Southern Jumbo (fell in love with a broken one at a pawn shop when I was a teenager & have been lusting ever since), so this was meant as my temp until shelling out thousands seemed financially feasible, but this guitar's almost completely stolen my heart. You'll fall in love!
Just a note on the Contemporary model vs. Historic model - the Contemporary is solid spruce top but laminated mahogany back & sides, whereas the Historic is solid all-around.

I cried.

By Matobear23

Comments about Blueridge BG-40 Contemporary Series Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Folks I searched low and high for a good playing guitar for a modest price. I would love a Gibson, or Martin, but I am not a full time musician and just cannot justify paying the price for a guitar. I searched and finally had it narrowed down to a Martin with the Laminate side, (which I was not happy about), when I decided to click on the similar items tab and found this gem. I was amazed that this guitar, solid wood was so cheap in comparison. I ordered it and probably checked the tracking number 6 times a day, waiting anxiously. When it came, I actually cried a little when I took it out of its case (it was very emotional. This guitar is absolutely beautiful. I was surprised with how light it was, very very well built and the tone that escapes its sound hole is in my humble opinion every bit as good as the Gibsons I have played. For the money this is the guitar to have, the finish is beautiful, as is the sound coming from it. Ready to play from the box, I would without hesitation recommend this guitar. I will post another post in a couple of weeks as an update.

Great guitar at the cost

By Thomme

from Chicago

Comments about Blueridge BG-40 Contemporary Series Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I'd been shopping around for a new acoustic guitar for about 2 months, it was taking my old Sigma into the shop for a couple weeks that did me in as far as buying one went. I had my eye on the Epiphone EJ-160e John Lennon signiture model, but was also considering the Martin 000X1, Epiphone AJ-500E masterbuilt, Carlo Robelli BWJ424CE and Ovation Ultra 2071. When I took my Sigma into the shop, I talked to the owner about acoustic guitars and he pointed out the Blueridge guitars and I fell in love almost instantly. They had a slightly thinner neck than most acoustic guitars, it felt more like my old Les Paul, they had a beautiful, thick gloss finish, which most other guitars around that range did not and featured solid wood tops, same as all the competitors. What really got me about the BG-40 was its accuate scale to the original Gibson J-45's and the beatiful sunburst finish. I bought one 2 days later. It's a VERY nice guitar for the price. It's finished better than the competitive Martins and Epiphone masterbuilts, plays better than the John Lennon signiture models and Hummingbirds by Epiphone, feels far more comfortable than the Ovation and sounds just as good, if not better, than most of the competition. I was blown away. Definately a GREAT guitar for the money.

This is a serious guitar sound wise

By newbie-fc0Xh

Comments about Blueridge BG-40 Contemporary Series Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

When I bought this guitar, I was lucky enough to hear a folk guitarist play it for me, this thing rings very loud and sounds much better when you hear someone playing it than when you are playing it yourself. These are well constructed and very durable is what a master luthier told me, but they sound amazing.

Great Acoustic Guitar

By Stratman-4G3jO

from Western North Carolina

Comments about Blueridge BG-40 Contemporary Series Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar is unbelievable. The sound that comes out of this baby far exceeds any expectation you may have about its low price. Solid wood top as well as solid wood back and sides (no cheap laminate here) give this guitar it's superior projection and tone. The craftmanship is flawless and it comes strung with a set of D'Addario strings and a real nice, sturdy hardshell case. This is an awesome buy, get this guitar today.
