OVERVIEW

A compact and affordable instrument that's great for fingerpicking with all solid tonewoods and traditional construction.

Blueridge 000 guitars are fast becoming the most popular guitar in its class. From folk to fingerstyle, the BR-143 is an example of a guitar that really does it all. The solid mahogany and solid spruce combined with the smaller body size make for a truly enjoyable...and versatile guitar to play. It starts with a full-sounding solid Sitka spruce top with hand-carved parabolic top braces that's perfectly textured by the addition of mahogany back and sides. Features continue in the slim mahogany neck and period appointments that include beautiful mother-of-pearl and abalone inlays.

Blueridge is an offshoot of the South San Francisco-based Saga Musical Instrument Company. Blueridge specializes in "traditional" guitars that offer today's player vintage styling with modern performance at a level of quality and price that compares favorably to historic guitars. Each instrument is the result of detailed research and is carefully crafted at the Blueridge factory. Consistency is evident throughout, from the fretwork to the intricate inlays that adorn each Blueridge headstock.

Comments about Blueridge Historic Series BR-143 000 Acoustic Guitar:

This is a fun guitar to play. With extra light strings it plays like an elctric. However, due to the body size it will not match the tone of a dreadnought size guitar. Plan on adding a pick up & a small amp for gigs. Construction is solid, I have been playing mine for 5 years with no adjustments.

Comments about Blueridge Historic Series BR-143 000 Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar was one of the best I ever played! I bought it brand new at a family owned music shop four years ago. The sound was so rich and full, and for a small body it had awesome bass response. Year one was heaven, year two it became my #1 guitar, year three everything changed.
In the third year, the bridge started to lift up off the body and the guitar started to crack. Tried to report the problem to Saga... no response or concern. I would think that a representative would take this seriously...NO! No biggie, so, I bite the bullet and get it fixed. Year four: Repairs are done and cracks are back even more than before. So much so, that the neck is starting to dip into the body and the body behind the bridge Started pulling away from bracing. All of a sudden fret buzz and intonation problems arose.
To repair the guitar again would exceed the amount that I paid for it.
After a year and a half of finagling with with its temperament, I took the strings off of it and retired my #1.
It is a real bummer to me because Blueridge is a very good guitar brand and I may be dealing with a "one in a million" scenario. Be that as it may, I am not taking that chance again.

Comments about Blueridge Historic Series BR-143 000 Acoustic Guitar:

I absolutely love this guitar, and everybody who picks it up loves the tone. I've had it about 5 yrs, and about 1 1/2 yrs ago it started to break in and now it sounds amazing!!!! for the price, un-beatable. I put the tusq pins in and it balanced it out well, it's a dark sounding guitar, not overly bright, but very rich low end.I put in k&k pups, and it sounds great electric too! this is the perfect stage guitar, not so expensive that you don't want to take it out, but sounds and looks like it!!(sweet pickguard too!) I'm going to use this for live, and get the br 163a for at home!!(getting it very soon!! I can't wait!!)
