Pre-war size with a hand-selected solid top and L.R. Baggs electronics.
The essence of pre-war guitars shines through in the American Series Revival Model guitars. This OOO has a twelve fret to the body design which attracts a variety of players who spend most of their time playing in the lower registers. Solid Sitka Spruce has been hand selected for the top and gleaming Sapele makes up the back and sides. The resulting sound is balanced with ample projection.
The attention to detail is clear as you look at the traditional appointments such as Herringbone top purfling and Ivoroid binding. Featuring a slim line Abalone rosette as well as a slotted headstock, the OOO/SSe has a Rosewood fingerboard with the Revival Dots pattern inlay. This smaller scale guitar is a fantastic example of an instrument made for swift balanced flat picking and fast clear chording. Included is a L.R. Baggs Element Active VCT Pickup.
L.R. Baggs Element Active VCT Pickup
Think you know what undersaddle transducers are all about? Think again. The Element VTC delivers performance previously unattainable from an undersaddle pickup. The streamlined and efficient design removes every unnecessary internal component to improve the coupling between the transducer and the guitar. This substantially improves the sensitivity of the transducer for a robust, lively and open sound with great dynamics and a delicate high end.
The Element Active System - Volume and Tone Control (VTC) pairs the Element undersaddle transducer with a pre-contoured all-discrete class A endpin preamp and includes a small, removable soundhole-mounted volume and tone control for added convenience and versatility.

Comments about Breedlove American Series 000-SSe Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I bought this from the Stupid Deal of the Day. I couldn't believe that a Breedlove small body guitar was going for so cheap. So I bought it for my wife who is now learning to play on a pro quality instrument. and making both of my musician sons jealous in the process.
Haven't plugged it into an amp yet so I can't evaluate the electronics but the fit and finish of the guitar are perfect - not a flaw. Great tone - strong bottom end and clear highs. Easy to play and well set up right out of the box. I put Silk and Steel strings on it to make the fingering a bi softer for my wife, and it sounds good with those. But I think I prefer the tone of the d'addario phosphor bronze that it came strung with. The 12-fret slot head makes you want to play Norman Blake tunes and it responds really well to that sort of flatpicking and crosspicking style of playing.
