American-grown woods, "Pre War" X-bracing, and a one-piece mahogany neck provide a backdrop for this gorgeous dreadnought guitar from Breedlove.
From Breedlove guitars comes a dreadnought guitar that is 100% true-red-white-and-blue American. Part of the American series, this guitar is built in Bend, Oregon, using quality products made right in the USA”no parts or designs were shipped to other countries. It represents the true American spirit, using quality parts and Breedlove's famous craftsmanship, producing an acoustic guitar that will stand the test of time and look absolutely beautiful in the process.
The American Series D/SM acoustic guitar is built on the popular dreadnought body design. It possesses a strong resonant chamber thanks to its deep body and broad top. The result is a full-sounding and incredibly loud acoustic guitar, offering balanced sound from top to bottom, sounding great in any mix. Whether practicing at home, jamming with your buddies at a festival, or taking center stage, the dreadnought guitar is present and in the mix.
The solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides offer balanced, full-range tone with lots of clear projection. The ebony fingerboard, and the one-piece mahogany neck produce rich clarity from note to note. The Breedlove D/SM's 25-1/2" scale, 1-3/4" nut width, and 16" radius offer comfort for intricate finger movements, and the gloss finish adds a high-end shine. These design elements yield abundant overtones, complexity, body resonance, and note-for-note swell ideal for creating natural effects, single-note complexity, and orchestral chording.
All Breedlove Custom Shop steel-string guitars (except for the Revival Series), Pro Series and Atlas Series guitars use the JLD Bridge Truss system. This device is a cantilevered truss that helps to counterbalance string tension at the bridge, creating a relaxed top and improved structural integrity. This allows the tops to be braced in a very progressive way, with a focus on realizing the full acoustic potential of the top. A relaxed top provides maximal wavelength response and a synergy is created by use of a graduated top thickness, balanced scalloped bracing, and a pinless bridge in combination with the bridge truss system. This gives Breedlove guitars the distinctive and highly dynamic "Breedlove Sound", with a piano-like bass and a remarkably well-balanced tone suitable for a broad variety of musical styles.
Other appointments on the Breedlove American acoustic guitar include black body binding, American abalone rosette, single-action soundhole-adjustable truss rod, rosewood "belly" bridge, one-piece mahogany neck, pearl dot position markers, and Gotoh vintage-style open-back tuners.
The Breedlove American Series D/SRe acoustic guitar includes the Breedlove lifetime warranty and a deluxe hardshell guitar case, so you can keep your 6-string looking as gorgeous as the day you bought it. Make that day today and order now.

I read about this guitar in a review in GP magazine. Sounded like just what I was looking for. (I wanted something similar to a vintage D-18, but I had a smaller budget.) I searched everywhere to find one and no one had the American version available. I contacted MF and requested a special order. After a couple of weeks I got a call that they were getting 2 in the next shipment. I bought one right away. When it got here I was blown away. I play with folks that have Collings, Bourgeois, Huss & Dalton and other high end dreads and this thing flat hangs with them all. 2 weeks after my purchase Breedlove got bought out by Two Old Hippies and this product was immediately discontinued. Not sure why other than it was too cheap! I would have paid twice as much if I knew how awesome this axe would be. One of my friends just bought the Korean version and it is nice too, not quite as nice as this one but an excellent guitar for the price.
