Comments about Breedlove Atlas Stage Series D25/SRe Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I have owned the older version of this guitar (AD25-SRplus) for about 7 years now and it has performed extremely well with heavy use. The tone, fit and finish, and volume are perfect for the variety of music I play (rock, blues, jazz, reggae, etc). The new L.R. Baggs electronics are much improved over the old Fishman electronics, which made poor contact with the battery--so the tuner would fade in and out. My wife has the new L.R. Baggs on her new Breedlove guitar and loves it. I recently had a problem with the handle breaking on my case and contacted customer service in Bend, Oregon. Terri Hensley provided superior service and shipped me out a replacement that same day. She also called to touch base and make sure everything was taken care of to my satisfaction. Talk about great service! My family owns several Breedlove guitars (and Martin and Taylor), and the kind of service Terri delivered has convinced me to continue buying and playing Breedlove.

I have been looking at the top Taylors and Martins for a long time. I have passed by Breedloves at Guitar Center without a second glance many times. Finally an associate there put this model in my hands and made me play it. Whoa, I couldn't believe what came out of it. I grabbed an 8 series Taylor and played them back to back and the Breedlove sounded better. Enough said, I walked right out the door with it. You will not be disappointed. If you haven't been able to buy that Taylor or Martin, you can get this Breedlove and it will appreciate in value or hold its value as musicians begin to grab them up. The sound just rings forever and the volume and tone are incredible. Plug it in and be further amazed. I'm looking into a 12 string Breedlove next. Then maybe a mandolin, ukelele, .....

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Stage Series D25/SRe Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This is a fantastic guitar. I orderd a factory restock, which I'm always a little skeptical about, and this guitar was amazing right out of the box. The action is as good as any Taylor and the sound and sustain is incredible. It sounds every bit as good as a guitar going for 5 times more. If you have any doubts about this guitar, you can hang them up.
This is one of my best purchases in a long time.

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Stage Series D25/SRe Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Positive - great value: although it lacks the popularity of Taylor and Martin, you get a much greater value than the big names at this price point. Beautiful sound, all wood, fantastic finish with gorgeous inlays, very impressive electronics. Excellent hardshell case compared to soft case with competitors. This instrument should stand the test of time, and as Breedlove reputation grows, should prove to be a good investment.
Negative - only one so far: there was no manual or instructions of any kind for the electronics, although operation is straightforward and Breedlove quality department offered a useful guideline.

To summarize:
Pros - Very well made. Great tone. Great sustain and clarity. The LR Baggs pickup makes it come alive.
Cons - Nut is set too high, at least for me. Abalone around the box detracts from its attractiveness.
Ugly pick guard. Case doesn't close without tweeking each time you close it.
I don't mean to be negative. For sure, this is the best sounding acoustic I've owned, and it is a joy to play. I'd buy another one in a minute. For the price, I don't think you'll get a better sounding guitar. This model is made in Korea, and if I ever get the money, I will definitely buy an upper end American Breedlove guitar. Kim Breedlove is a great luthier!
The LR Baggs is a real plus on this guitar. It really shapes the tone and will bring out the highs and lows with a few minor adjustments. I was somewhat disappointed in the looks of this guitar. I wish they would leave out the abalone around the perimeter of the box and just leave it on the soundhole. It is a little too flashy for me. Also, the pickguard is one of the ugliest I've ever seen. It seems to clash with the abalone. I had a small body Taylor with the same wood (rosewood sides and spruce top) and it was absolutely gorgeous! On the Taylor, only the sound hole had the abalone, which, to me is plenty. Otherwise you get that "Roy Rogers" overdone look. Some players like that, but I don't. On the other hand, the workmanship is superb.
This is truly a well-made guitar, but I think the strings are set too high at the nut. This makes it really hard to adjust the action low, which is how I like my acoustics. I live in Montana, where the relative humidity is very low, so adjusting the neck and saddle has been a challenge. I do my own adjustments, and have had a pretty fair amount of success, and I don't claim to be a pro, but so far, the guitar's action has not been perfect, mainly because the nut is set too high. I am thinking about taking it to a good luthier to have it set up properly. This is the first guitar that I've owned that also needs to be adjusted on the inside of the guitar, which is an exclusive (I think) feature of Breedlove guitars. It really wasn't that difficult. The tone of the guitar is beautiful, although I expected a little more volume from this dreadnought. Undoubtedly, the gloss finish cuts down on the volume somewhat. I am very impressed with the clarity and sustain, especially on the first string, which has been a problem with other guitars I've own.
The sound of this guitar is very clear, and it is a real pleasure to play. I was a little disappointed that the top of the case doesn't close right down on the bottom. You have to bring it slightly to the left to make it close properly. Also, Breedlove needs to start making their cases with a little recession where the volume knob is on the guitar. I always have to pull on the inside of the case so as not to put pressure on the knob when closing it.
Well worth a grand. You'll pay a lot more for a Taylor or Martin that gets a sound like this.

I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a great reliable instrument.
The neck is smooth thanks to the satin finish, it's really comfortable to play it features an LR baggs pre-amp with chromatic tuner (which is pretty accurate btw) it allows you to arrange just about any type of sound you're after. The inlays on the neck are along the lines of what you'd expect from a more expensive model.
Although this model (D25/SR Atlas series) is made in Korea the attention to detail is impeccable. The final inspection takes place in Bend Oregon. Very well put together. The guitar feels very solid
I played this guitar (D25/SR) and a Taylor (414ce) back to back for about an hour before I made my decision. The sound quality of the Breedlove compared to the Taylor IMO wasn't even a contest. If you're looking for a warm but not boomy sound this guitar is definately worth a look. This thing hits it all crisp mids and highs with great bottom end. It also responds really well the finger picking. Breedlove is a sleeping giant! The other big names can take a lesson from these guys, quality sound and value at a price a "regular guy" can afford.
Comments about Breedlove Atlas Stage Series D25/SRe Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I'd give this guitar a 10 except for the following. I bought one a guitar center and the electronics went out almost instantly. Returned it, and had the same problem after a few days with the 2nd one. I don't get how a guitar that goes for almost a grand can have problems with the electronics almost right out of the box. If you get one that doesn't have the problems I experienced, you'll love this guitar. Outstanding sound, great feeling neck and jjust plays great, but I question Breedloves QA if I can get a hold of 2 of these with the same problem.
Read above
If I didn't have my problems that I experienced then I'd have to say this is outstanding for the money.

Just got this guitar today from Musicians Friend. Very happy for the most part. The guitar is beautiful. The neck is one of the most comfortable ones I've played (including electrics, yes it's that good!). The satin finish on the neck is very nice for quick sliding up and down. The sustain will last for days. Projects very subtle finger picking very nicely. The highs and mids are the best I've heard. Having said all that, there are some nitpicks with this guitar. One is the finish. There is a big glob of orangish/yellowish wood glue on the fret binding right by the nut. Not something you want to see on a $1000 guitar. Other than that the quality is superb. The bass side is a little muffled. Boomy, not punchy and well articulated. Hoping that new strings and time will help with that. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't sound bad at all, just not as good as some others I've played. The case that comes with is is very nice, just one complaint though. The electronics on the guitar has a volume knob that sticks out and catches on the case when you try to put the guitar in it. Don't want the volume knob to break over time by catching the case. May try to modify the case a bit to take care of that problem. Overall, a great looking, sounding and playing guitar and I'm very pleased.

I picked one of these up, and was very impressed with the look and feel of the guitar. The abalone binding and inlays look great. The neck feels perfect. Out of the box, the action was way too high. After having it properly setup, it plays great. The sound is very bass heavy, but has a nice warm tone to it. The electronics work great and the built in EQ is adjustable enough to get a nice variety of tones.
