OVERVIEW

Crafted almost entirely with woods indigenous to the Pacific Northwest.

Breedlove's Northwest Classic introduced the guitar world to the amazing tonal properties of myrtlewood. Found only in Oregon's coastal ranges, myrtlewood exhibits both the deep bass of rosewood and the ringing treble of maple. Coupled with a Sitka spruce top, and decorated with fingerboard inlays inspired by Northwest tribal totem images, the Myrtlewood Northwest Classic guitar is a versatile musical instrument and Breedlove's most popular Master Class Model.

A keeper for sure

Comments about Breedlove Northwest Classic Acoustic Guitar:

I have owned my Breedlove Northwest classic for about 12 years now. I have owned many handmade guitars as well, all of which I've sold for one reason or another. But the Breedlove has never been for sale. I play live at least once a week and often use it as my main guitar. It is also my main studio guitar. I once produced a cd for a collection of fingerstyle guitar players, and all these guys brought their favorite guitars. I saw about 30 high end guitars come through the studio. There were 3 that stood out head and shoulders above the rest, and the Breedlove was one of them. Interestingly, another lower end Breedlove was just slightly below the top 3 as well. Consistently, I get people wanting to borrow this guitar. I get repeated comments on how perfect the neck is and how great the tone is. But everyone says the neck is the best they've ever played on. I've had guitars that cost twice as much and didn't even come close. All that said, I never liked the look of the bridge. But I still won't let her go until I find another guitar that can play like this. The price is a bit steep, but if you can di it, the guitar will reward you with "that" tone.

Comments about Breedlove Northwest Classic Acoustic Guitar:

Never before have I heard tone, warmth and sustain like this -- and to have the ease of playability at the same time is unbelievable. I did my research and Breedlove has no rival in quality. Simply the finest out there, this NWC is my last guitar.

world class live and recording acoustic

By TommyP.

Comments about Breedlove Northwest Classic Acoustic Guitar:

The maple neck has ultimate comfort and rigidity. Tonal balance and projection of this combination of maple, myrtlewood and spruce is unique and rarely heard. Lots of sustain, the upper frequencies are sparkling. The last word is the lower end with amazingly satisfying thump at the bottom. Wide dynamic range is sweet played softly, and stays tight and unmuddy so incredibly loud and balanced when played hard. This is a players review, the beauty and craftmanship is just a bonus.

Best Guitar I have Ever Played

By Rick-pnmMj

from Central Oregon

Comments about Breedlove Northwest Classic Acoustic Guitar:

I have been playing the guitar for 25 years. I am a high school/college teacher of music. I have played and owned tons of top brands. I had the incredible experience of touring the Breedlove Factory last year. I was completely amazed at the detail that went into the creation of these instruments. On the tour, I saw the Nortwest Classic for the first time. The Myrtlewood back and sides are completely gorgeous. The hand-carved maple neck feels great. The walnut binding and northwest totem inlays enhance the beauty, yet don't overly "jewel" the instrument. After the tour, I played the Northwest Classic for the first time. It is incredibly easy to play. The lows are warm and the highs are clear. The harmonics seem like they will sustain forever! I instantly fell in love - I had finally found my perfect instrument. I rushed home and started selling my guitar collection to make the money to buy the Northwest Classic. A month later, I had enough money and bought this beautiful guitar. The Northwest Classic is expensive, but it is completely worth it. Congratulations to Breedlove for creating WONDERFUL instruments.
