This is a beautiful, well crafted guitar. Sounds great, however my recently purchased Martin MMV sounds a bit better to me, but somehow it seems the Breedlove may benefit from another, different set of strings. I wrote this only after an hour or so of playing it after it was delivered so this is a first impression. Overall this is a very nice guitar and I'm glad I added it to my collection. I believe I will fall deeper in love with it as the days and years pass. I have two other Breedloves and they too are a cut above.

The quality of this guitar is an absolute steal. AAA stika spruce top, Rosewood back(one piece back) and sides, and a mahogany neck. Comes with Gotoh tuners. Once the wood opens up a bit, it sounds great in different tunings. This guitar has a great and rich low end with the rosewood and mahogany, and the sitka spruce gives it that "snap". Overall, it's a pretty guitar to look at - I love the finish. Plays great when you get the set up right. If you've played a Martin D-28, this sounds just like it for half the price - same woods too.

This guitar is 100 % assembled in USA the one piece Mahogany neck and AAA sides and back are cut and shaped in Korean Wood shop then flatpacked to Custom shop where the body and braces are built, the top braced, fret board placed on neck then finished and put together at the custom shop, gotoh turners from Japan, fret wire from Germany, nut and saddle from Canada, all this from 2009 Breedlove information, all this to keep the price down on on a Custom shop guitar. Get them now while you can .

Fit and finish was flawless. Intonation was spot on. Many harmonic overtones - difficult to control resonance on D and A strings due to sympathetic harmonics. Have to use an equalizer when plugged in to control the bass harmonics. Very satisfied with MF support. LR Baggs installed needs to have a notch filter and EQ on this model.

This is a top notch solid wood US made Breedlove Dreadnought. The fit and finish are perfect. It sounds almost identical to a Martin HD-28V but with a great pickup. The Gotoh Open back tuners are very smooth and high quality. The case is really top notch as well with an arched top and 6 latches. I've played better sounding guitars but they have all cost 3 to 4 times more than this one. For under $2k you can't do better new. Smokes any Taylor Dread I've played.

No regrets. If you are thinking Martin HD-28 or HD-28v but are on a budget, do not hesitate. I have played D-28s and an HD-28 and as excellent as they are, to my ears, this Breedlove sounds at least as good, if not a bit better. It has it all--highs, lows and mids. It just does not have the prestige of a Martin. FYI--I am a Martin freak and no axe to grind whatsoever with C.F. Martin. Its just that Breedlove has done an excellent job of replicating and improving upon the pre-war D-28, at a much lower cost. As for this instrument seeming heavy, I thought no more so than similar dreadnaughts. Do you own research and if you want a Martin, Taylor, Gibson, etc. instead, fine. But for the $, I promise you that the D/SR will not disappoint those who desire an HD-28 but don't have the bucks. The only thing it misses is a backstrip (so what) and the Martin name on the headstock. That said, I still want a D-41...

This guitar was a let down for me. First, this guitar is very heavy. The construction on the sides is too thick and this adds weight, but doesnt really earn its weight with sustain. With a bit of research youll find that this series is actually only partially assembled in the USA> the body is assembled in their Korea plant, with final neck and setup completed in Bend. Not great for the price and Breedlove knew it. Save over half a k and get one of the "New American" series. these are constructed entirerly in Bend and the modest understated appointments bring the price in at about one k. i tried the new american series dread against this one and i left happy with the new american.

This guitar sounds great! The sustain is long, the all solid wood construction is gorgeous. The pickup system sounds great and is hidden away in the soundhole. Made in the USA at a great value. I highly recommend this guitar. Breedlove ROCKS!
